Westlake Weekly – August 11th, 2017

Pick Up Placards: All families will receive their pick up placard at Meet the Teacher. Placards are to be placed on the dashboard of all cars when entering the parking lot to pick up your student at dismissal. The placard helps ensure student safety at dismissal.

School Dismissal Manager: All families will receive a School Dismissal Manager email with login information on August 14th. Families must login to School Dismissal Manager to set their student’s default dismissal.  The following are the ways students will dismiss:

• Car Line Pick Up
• BASE (before and after school)
• Daily PM Walking School Bus (with signed permission only)
• Walk/Bike Home (with signed permission slip)
• Walk Up Parent Pick Up

Families can set their default dismissal for the year, by month, week, or daily. Changes can be made to the schedule from your computer or mobile device up until 2:15 PM on regular schedule or 12:00 PM on Wednesday schedule.

Volunteers Needed: Sign up now! Volunteer positions are filling up fast for our Ways to Westlake volunteer program. We are looking forward to working with all our volunteers to create a safe and smooth start to the year at morning drop off and afternoon pickup.

How to Reach the School: The address for our new campus is 2680 Mabry Drive, Sacramento, CA 95835. Our phone number is 916-567-5760. Our office will open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm starting on August 15th. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Meet the Teacher: On August 15th we will open our doors for Meet the Teacher!  Plan to come on campus anytime from 12-2PM. We encourage families to park at Burberry or Elderberry Park and practice their walking route to school.  Click HERE to learn more about the walking and driving routes as well as recommended parking areas.

BASE Dates: Please remember, the BASE program will be closed on August 14th and 15th to allow us to get set up on our new campus! BASE will open for the 2017-18 school year on August 16th at 7AM at 2680 Mabry Drive. Click HERE to download the 2017-18 BASE registration packet.

Solar Eclipse: On August 21st at 10:17:05 am Sacramento will experience a 79% solar eclipse. Westlake has purchased ISO approved eclipse viewing glasses for the entire school and we are excited to see all of our explorers experiencing one of nature’s most awe inspiring sights. After School LIVE: Click HERE for information on our after school clubs program launching this fall! After school LIVE stands for: Locally Inspired Vibrant Explorers! These clubs are parent lead and student centered! 

Spirit Store: The Westlake Charter Spirit Store is open! We have a wide variety of items available including t-shirts, polos, outerwear and bags.  Just Click HERE to browse our selection of WCS gear and place your order today.  The deadline to submit an order is August 28th at noon and items are scheduled to arrive in mid-September. Don’t delay, the next order won’t be made until Spring 2018.
