Last Friday was a busy day at WCHS filled with student spirit and fun! Thank you to our leadership teacher Mr. Rubin and his students for putting on a high-energy rally and to our high school activities director Mrs. Grimaldi who transformed the gym into a magical spring celebration for the “Hello Spring” dance. Thank you to all of the families who stepped in to donate and set up and clean up for the dance. Memories were made and fun was had by all!

Solar Eclipse: There will be a partial solar eclipse in Sacramento on Monday, April 8th. Ensuring the safety of our students during the solar eclipse is critical. Because students may be outdoors for various school activities such as class changes, recess, or physical education, it is imperative that they understand and adhere to safety protocols. We kindly request that families review safety procedures with their children, emphasizing never to look directly at the sun without proper eye protection. On the day of the eclipse, our teachers and staff will closely monitor students and remind them of the importance of protecting their eyes.

Lost and Found: The Lost & Found at each campus is overflowing with jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles and more! K-8 families: Swing by to check for missing items behind the Admin Building.  WCHS students: Look in the Commons during arrival, lunch, and dismissal.  All unclaimed items will be donated over Spring Break.

Spring Break: Both campuses will be closed for Spring Break Monday, April 15th  through Monday, April 22nd. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, April 23rd. BASE will be closed  Monday, April 15th – Friday, April 19th but will be open on Monday, April 22nd.

19th Annual International Festival:  Our 19th Annual International Festival is just around the corner on Saturday, April 27th!  This community event is a family favorite that helps celebrate Westlake’s diversity.  In order to continue to host this spectacular event, we need your support.  It’s not too late to sign up to plan,  volunteer at the event, donate equipment, bake or purchase desserts for the Dessert Walk, or host a cultural booth.

  • Cultural Booths: We currently have 10 booths signed up, but our goal is to see as many countries and cultures represented as possible. Cultural Booth hosts may provide a small sampling of native cuisine, cultural artifacts, and/or a children’s activity/game – the booth can be as simple or complex as you would like. Hosts are reimbursed up to $150 for booth expenses. CLICK HERE to sign up to host a Cultural Booth.
