Veterans Day/BASE CLOSED: The Westlake Charter School campus and BASE will be closed on Monday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. 

Spirit Day – Decades Day: Friday, November 15th is Decades day! Enjoy a blast from the past and dress up in clothes from a past decade!  

1. Clothes must be free of inappropriate wording and images
2. All shirts must have sleeves, no sleeveless shirts.
3. All clothing must be free of rips and tears
4. All clothing must fit properly. Pants around the natural waist, tops completely covering the torso area
5. No dangerous accessories

Conference Week: Conference week is November 18th – November 22nd. Remember, during conference week we will dismiss early to allow time to meet with each of our families – Kindergarten will dismiss at 1:00 PM and 1st–8th grade will dismiss at 1:30 PM. Our BASE program will be open after school until 6:00 PM each day. Click HERE to scheduled your conference. Click HERE for instructions on how to sign up. 

Middle School Dance: Our middle school Explorers can join us for a jungle themed night at our first school dance of the year on Friday, November 22nd! The dance will be held from 5 PM – 6:30 PM in the cafeteria and multi-purpose room. Students can sign up and get their tickets at lunch recess on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,  November 20th – 22nd. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Parents please pick up your students at the flagpole at 6:30 PM. 

Thanksgiving Break: School will be closed November 25 –November 29th for Thanksgiving Break. Our BASE program will be open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Monday, November 25th & Tuesday, November 26th. 

Lost & Found: Our lost and found is overflowing with jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles and more! Please check for any missing items by Friday, November 22nd. All unclaimed items will be donated over Thanksgiving Break.

Enrichment Sign ups: Enrichment sign-ups for our winter session are live! Feel free to sign up now for the winter and/or spring session(s) of classes. Click HERE for the enrichment class offerings. Whole School Morning meeting: Families are welcome to join us for our end of trimester whole school morning meeting! At the whole school morning meeting, celebrate students and build community in the same way we do in class each day.

• K-2: Wednesday, November 20th, 8:45 AM – 9:30 AM
• 3-5: Wednesday, November 20th, 9:45 AM – 10:30 AM

Missoula Children’s Theater Company – It’s Not Too Late to Sign Up! 

Tuesday, November 12th at 3:30 PM all students are welcome to audition for Missoula Theater Company’s production of The Tortoise versus the Hare. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be in a professional show. Click HERE for details.  Click HERE to RSVP to audition.

Missoula Performance: You’re invited to see Westlake Charter students put on a performance of The Tortoise Versus the Hare on Saturday, November 16th at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM. The performance will be approximately one hour. Tickets are available at the door: cost is $1 or one canned food item per ticket. All proceeds will go to Joey’s Food Locker. 

Olympic Triathlon: The 2019 Olympic Triathlon has concluded and all we can say is “thank you.” Thank you to everyone who contributed via donation, fundraising and volunteering, thank you. We are truly better together and the past 6 weeks is a great of example of how amazing this community really is. Together we raised over $42,000 for Westlake Charter School and this would not be possible without the support of parents, students, staff and community. 

Kudos: Families, everything WAVE does isn’t possible without you. During the Olympic Triathlon Event we had over 50 volunteers help students challenge themselves at the obstacle course, show off their love of Spanish and make beautiful pinwheels to display on campus. Less than a week later, 10 parent and student volunteers led STEM stations during our fun and engaging Family Science Night. Additionally, thank you to everyone who attended Science Night and our first Parent Mixer. We truly demonstrate what happens when school and community collaborate.
