Announcements

Westlake Charter High School Update: We have a couple of exciting announcements about Westlake Charter High School! Click HERE to watch the video announcement.

Spirit Day – Role Model Day: October 25th is Role Model Day! Role models are individuals who exhibit Westlake’s Core Values and can be family members, professionals etc. Students who participate in Role Model Day should be prepared to talk about what Core Values their chosen role model exhibits. Additionally, students should refrain from bringing distracting props or accessories. Reach out to the Middle School Leadership Team via Allison Chavez ([email protected]) if you have any questions about this spirit day.

Missoula Children’s Theater Company: Tuesday, November 12th at 3:30 PM all students are welcome to audition for Missoula Theater Company’s production of The Tortoise versus the Hare. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be in a professional show. Click HERE for details.  Click HERE to RSVP to audition.

Host Missoula Directors:  We have the opportunity to give our two Missoula directors a “home away from home” experience by providing housing with host families. We need housing for Sunday, November 10th through Sunday, November 17th for two Directors who will each need a private room. Email [email protected] if you have any questions, or are interested in hosting one or both of our Missoula Directors.

Advisory Fishbowl Parent Sign Up: Please join us as our 6th-8th grade students hold a discussion. On November 14th from 8:15 AM – 8:57 AM, you will join a small group of 6th-8th grade students and a staff member and engage in a guided conversation. Click HERE to sign up to be a part of this event.

Whole School Morning Meeting: Whole School Morning meeting: Families are welcome to join us for our end of trimester whole school morning meeting! At the whole school morning meeting, celebrate students and build community in the same way we do in class each day.

Olympic Triathlon: The Olympic Triathlon is off to a great start! Our goal is to raise at least $50,000 to support our fantastic specialty programs of Art, Spanish and P.E and we have raised over $8,000 so far. Our biggest and most important goal is 100% participation. The classes with 100% participation will be awarded a party to celebrate this achievement!

  • Please click HERE to create a fundraising page, visit our in person collection on Tuesday, October 22nd from 8-8:30am or drop off donations in the front office. Every dollar helps support Westlake Charter School and our amazing programs.
  • Additionally, we are in need of volunteers for the Olympic Triathlon Event on November 1st. Throughout the entire day students rotate through Art, Spanish and P.E. stations to celebrate these programs and have a ton of fun! Please click HERE to sign up to be a part of this amazing day! It is often one of the most exciting days of the year on our campus!

Family Night Out at Chipotle: Please consider grabbing dinner at Chipotle located at 2800 Del Paso Blvd this Tuesday, October 22nd between 4 and 8pm. If you let the cashier know you are supporting Westlake Charter School or click HERE to show this flyer, Chipotle will donate 33% of the proceeds to WAVE. Thank you families!

Shopping to Educate: Please join us on Saturday, October 26th from 3-5pm for the Sugar Crush Trick or Treat Party at Lake Crest Village. Click HERE for the Flyer that  will be coming home and can be redeemed for 500 points per student when they are turned in at the event. Please click HERE to submit any receipts online or drop them off in the office. Westlake can win prize money at Arden Fair Mall, Lake Crest Village and Loehmann’s Plaza when receipts are submitted for points.

Parent Mixer: Join us for Westlake Charter School’s 1st Parent Mixer on November 2nd from 6-9pm at the Natomas Park Clubhouse. The Natomas Park association has kindly donated the space but please keep in mind that this is an adult only event and no childcare will be provided at the event or by the clubhouse. This event is a fantastic way to meet and reconnect with other Westlake parents/guardians. There will be appetizers provided, a chance to win some raffle prizes and the opportunity to purchase adult beverages.

Kudos: What a day we had last Wednesday! The 7th Annual Chili Cook-Off was a huge success and wouldn’t have been possible without our fabulous 6th-8th grade teachers, chili makers, servers, decorators and donations. Additionally, Walk to School Day was a fantastic way to celebrate Walktober and over a dozen volunteers came out extra early to make it safe and fun for our Explorers. Thank you for continuing to support our events!
