Go to iTunes to hear Mr. Aichele’s weekly Podcast featuring WCS Explorers explaining what they learned in class each week! This is an innovative approach to the weekly newsletter and it sounds like the kids are having a blast helping explain their learning!
Our two 8th grade students, Lucas and Jaya, represented our school well at the NUSD School board forum. They prepared questions to ask board candidates focused on how the board member would ensure charter students were also a priority to the district.
Dr. Pan and Officer Anderson brought the 3 branches of government to life for our 3rd grade explorers. Students proposed and tried to pass a bill. It was a great process and our 3rd graders learned so much! Thank you Dr. Pan and Officer Anderson

Conference Week: We are so excited to have this entire next week dedicated to Parent/Teacher conferences. Please remember, all grades will have early dismissal Monday, November 14th through Friday, November 18th. See the dismissal times below:
5th-8th Grade: 12:30pm
Kindergarten: 12:45pm
1st-4th Grade: 1:15pm
Picture Retake Day: Picture Retake Day is Thursday, November 17th for both campuses. These pictures are taken in school uniform. Please make sure to let your teacher know if you would like your student to retake their school picture.
End of Trimester Awards Ceremonies: On Friday, November 18th we will have End of Trimester Awards for 4th through 8th grade students. See the awards times below:
4th Grade: 8:30am
6th-8th Grade: 9:15am
5th Grade: 10:00am
NO SCHOOL: The Week of November 21st-25th, there will be no school for Thanksgiving Break.

Conference Week: We will be following our Wednesday dismissal schedule this week. 12:45pm for Kindergarten and 1:15pm for 1st-4th grade. This will allow time for all of our families to meet with their child(ren)s teacher(s). Please be sure to make arrangements to pick your student up on time or be sure that they are registered for BASE.
End of Trimester Conferences: We can’t wait to have 100% of our families on campus next week for our end of the trimester student-led conferences. Students should attend the conference as they will be leading it. During conferences, you will meet with your student and their Advisory teacher where your student will have the opportunity to share about their growth and learning this trimester. If you are interested in meeting with any other teacher, please reach out to your student’s advisory teacher and they can help arrange that!
End of the Trimester Awards Ceremony: On Friday, November 18th we will celebrate academic success on campus. If your child earned an 80% overall average or higher during the first trimester they will be eligible for an award. We are excited to celebrate our students’ successes this trimester. 6th-8th grade will be at 9:15am and 5th grade will be at 10:00am, both ceremonies will be in the multipurpose room!
