While there are many roads that lead16-4-4 NNTMA Driving Map to our K-8 campus, we would like to make sure you have the best information available in regard to which roads to use (Green Zones), which roads to use with caution as they may be busy during peak times (Yellow Zones), and which roads to avoid as they are residential streets (Red Zones).  By planning in advance the roads you will take, we hope that you are able to get to and from campus safely and efficiently.

As you plan your route to school, please know that there is no left turn into the parking lot from Mabry.  All cars who would like to enter the parking lot must come from the West, or from the vicinity of Valley Oak Park. Please do not make U-turns in this area. Similarly, when leaving the parking lot, in order to help keep the flow of traffic moving, all exiting cars during drop-off and pick-up times must make a right turn on Maybrook.

By knowing the roads you’ll take, following some simple rules and demonstrating Westlake’s Core Values, you’ll help keep traffic moving and our community safe.

Know the Roads16-4-4 NNTMA Driving Map

1. Drive on the Green Roads and allow pedestrians to safely use the residential streets.

2. Be aware that the Yellow Roads might get congested at peak travel times.

3. Please do not drive on the Red Roads. These roads are smaller, neighborhood streets, and are intended to be used by our walking and biking students.

Know the Rules

When driving to the campus to pick-up your student, please follow one of these three rules:

1. Students can be picked up from the school parking lot. Westlake has learned quite a bit over these past few years on how to load students quickly and safely. We will do our best to keep the line moving, and ask for your help in following these rules.

2. Parents may park on any Green Road, meet their student on campus, and walk them back to the car. Please do not park near the entrance of the school’s parking lot while picking up your student, as that will impede other parents from queueing up in the pick-up line. Parents who wish to drive, park and pick-up their students can reunite with their students in the classroom.

3. Families who elect to have their student participate in the daily after-school walking school bus can reunite with their student at Burberry Park (link to map) approximately 20 minutes after the bell rings.

Know the Rules

When driving to the campus to drop-off your student, please follow one of these three rules:

1. Drop-off your student in the school’s parking lot. There is ample space so you can stop, drop-off your student, and get quickly back on the road.

2. Drop-off your student at the horse in Valley Oak Park. Students who wish to have a short, self-led walk to campus can be dropped off by parents near the horse structure in Valley Oak Park. Please do not drop your student off near the entrance of the school’s parking lot, as that will impede other parents from queueing up in the drop-off line entering the parking lot.

3. Park and walk with your student from any Green Zone. There is ample short-term parking near the campus if you would like to park in a Green Zone and walk with your student to school. As you walk with your student, please follow all traffic and pedestrian rules.
