Celebrations:

The rain couldn’t keep down 25 Westlake Explorers.  These Explorers braved the weather this past Walking Wednesday, with one explorer declaring it “one of the best Walking Wednesdays in history!” Way to persevere, Explorers! Screen Shot 2016-01-08 at 11.36.21 AM
PBL The middle school students launched into their month long journey of science fair projects this week! Students were demonstrating the core value of being inquisitive as they searched for their science fair perfect topics! The energy was contagious as they began this amazing process! We can’t wait to see their final products during our Science Fair on February 10th.
The 4th grade Age of Sail trip has become a beloved tradition at Westlake.  This year, for the first time, the weather report was less than favorable for our January trip.  El Nino decided to grace the trip with torrential downpours and wind. However, our incredible teaching team, amazing students, and dedicated tall sailors (parent volunteers), knew that they were up for the challenge.  The result was a fantastic trip where students were challenged, worked together as a team, laughed together and formed memories to last a lifetime.   ageofsail
