Exciting Opportunity to help Build our High School: NUSD is asking for feedback from the community about which future construction projects are the highest priority. Please make sure your voice is heard.
We encourage you to share your feelings about the need for a permanent high school campus for our students. You can describe why a permanent high school campus is important and what types of features you would like to see. For example, modern safety features, access to high quality athletics facilities, access to green space, and more.
Please take 3-5 minutes to share your thoughts for future construction projects using this NUSD Thought Exchange, before December 9, 2023. You can also “upvote” ideas and feedback left by others to help the district understand what is most important to you.
Toy Drive: We have partnered with the Natomas Chamber of Commerce for their annual Toy Drive. Drop off new, unwrapped toys in either of our Front Offices by Friday, December 8th. No time to shop? CLICK HERE for the Amazon Wish List that has been set up by the Natomas Chamber of Commerce and items will be delivered directly to them.
K-12 Movie Night: On Friday, December 15th at 5:30 PM we will be showing Mario Bros in the gym on our K-8 campus. Wear your pajamas if you’d like and bring blankets, pillows, chairs or whatever you need to get comfortable and enjoy the show! “Here for the Hot Cocoa!” Attendance Challenge: We’ve kicked off our “Here for the Hot Cocoa!” challenge where the grade level with the highest average of students in attendance each day from 11/27-12/21 will earn a Hot Cocoa party on when we return from Winter Break. So far, our 8th and 5th grade Explorers are tied with 96% attendance this first week back!
Link Crew Cocoa and Cram Social, Thursday, December 7th: All 9th grade students are invited to join our fun Link Crew study night, “Cocoa and Cram”, on Thursday, December 7th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the Commons. We’ll serve up some hot cocoa and cookies to fuel their brains while our 11th grade Link Leaders offer free tutoring and support to finish the semester strong. Whether students need help on a tough math concept or could use a study buddy for history, our 11th grade students are at the ready! No need to RSVP; just show up for tasty snacks and tutoring!
Report Card Timeline: The end of the first semester is just around the corner on Thursday, December 21st. Report cards will be mailed home on January 12th.
“Here for the Hot Cocoa!” Attendance Challenge: It is so important for your student to be in school if they are healthy. Missing school can negatively impact a student’s academic and social-emotional performance. It can also impact students’ ability to graduate on time from High School. We have kicked off our “Here for the Hot Cocoa!” challenge. The grade level with the highest percentage of students present will win Hot Cocoa. The challenge will run through 12/15. So far, 10th graders are in the lead!!
