'Starbooks' was open for business in Suzy Threadgill’s classroom at WCHS! Students in her high school Spanish class were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of Spanish literature in a coffee shop ambiance. The transformation of her classroom into 'Starbooks' provided a memorable and #JoyfulLearning opportunity.

Supply/Field Lesson Donations: Families, we need a little help! We have paid for all of our field lessons and school supplies in advance, but parent donations have not all come in!  We know the start of the school year can be a whirlwind, so we are sending out a reminder to please CLICK HERE to donate for your student supplies and field lesson campaigns. There are options for one time, or monthly donations.  Without your support, we are not able to send our students on field lessons, nor design such engaging in-class learning opportunities, so thank you for any support you can offer!

Student Support Services Staffing Update: Families, Mr. Kevin Simas, our Director of Student Support Services will be retiring. He has been called to support his family during a very difficult time, and is thankful that he is able to do so at this time. Beginning on November 1st, Mrs. Katie Davis, who has been with Westlake since 2016, and has served as a classroom teacher, teacher on special assignment (TOSA), and most recently as the Coordinator of Special Education has been promoted to Director of Student Support Services. Mrs. Ashlee Patel and Mr. Daniel Schoenberg have been promoted to the roles of K-8 and 9-12 Coordinator of Special Education, respectively. Finally, to ensure the success of the Student Support Services program, and each of its new leaders, we are excited to welcome Mrs. Christina Eick as the Director of Program Development. Mrs. Eick will be here through the end of the year to guide the further development of the Student Support Services program.
