Announcements

Missoula Update: It’s not too late! Click HERE to sign up to audition for Missoula Theater Company’s production of Gulliver’s Travels on Monday, May 13th at 3:30 PM.

  • Please change your student in School Dismissal Manager to say “Missoula”.  
  • Parents/Guardians are invited into the gym at 5:00 PM as roles are assigned.
  • Plan to pick up your student by 5:35 PM. Note – the lead roles and stage managers will need to stay for rehearsal from 5:35 PM-7:35 PM. There will be a snack break from 5:20 PM-5:35 PM for those students.

Missoula Performance: You’re invited to see Westlake Charter students put on a performance of Gulliver’s Travels on Saturday, May 18t at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM. The performance will be approximately one hour. Tickets are available at the door: cost is $1 or one canned food item per ticket. All proceeds will go to Joey’s Food Locker.

Spirit Shirt Contest: It’s time for Westlake to pick the student drawing for next year’s Friday spirit shirt! This is a contest open to all Westlake Charter School students. The winner will be announced at Morning Line-Up on Tuesday, June 4th . Click HERE to download the form. The deadline for the contest is Thursday, May 23rd.

Open House: Save the date for our K-8 Open House on Wednesday, May 22 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Chando’s Tacos, Good Dog Hot Dog Cart and Kona Ice will be available from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. We can’t wait to celebrate the growth your students have made in the 2018-19 school year!

7th Grade DC Trip Parent Meeting: There will be a DC trip parent meeting on May 22 at 7:00 PM in room F114. This will take

6th Grade Intro Night: We are excited to welcome all incoming 6th graders to 6th Grade Intro Night on Tuesday, May 28th starting at 6:00 PM. This event is for parents and students. We will start in the cafeteria with a middle school overview, students will find out which advisory class they will be in, then families will break out to the advisory classrooms to get to know their teacher and advisory classmates. 6th-8th Advisory Fishbowl: Please join us as our 6th-8th grade take part in our second Advisory Fishbowl. On May 30th from 8:15 AM – 8:57 AM, you will join a small group of 6th-8th grade students and a staff member and engage in a guided conversation. Click HERE to sign up to be a part of this event.

Staff Appreciation Week due May 6th: Staff Appreciation Week is May 6th – 10th. One of our annual traditions is to share notes of appreciation from our families with our staff. Click HERE by Monday, May 6th to send a note of appreciation to a Westlake Staff Member. It will be shared with them during Staff Appreciation Week.

Staff Appreciation Week: It is officially Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week here at Westlake Charter School. Each day we ask that your students participate by celebrating and showing appreciation for their teachers or a special member of our staff. Your student recently brought home a FLYER with more information and ideas about ways to show gratitude. Please join us in making this week fantastic for our incredible Explorer Staff!

Box Tops Competition: We are excited to announce the year’s final Box Top class competition. We will be choosing two winners: one from grades K-5 and one from grades 6-8. The classes that collect the most Box Tops by May 17th will win a popsicle party! Students can submit the Box Tops in the Box Top collection boxes located in each classroom.

Healthy Living Night: This event was a huge success and all attendees had a great evening. Enormous thanks go out to Chef Ravin Patel, Shelly Christy from Sweaty Shelly, Mrs. Christy and Sian Burman from DVM Financial Solutions. This night wouldn’t have been possible without them! Volunteer Hours Contest Results: The results are in and so many families logged their 2018-19 hours during the month of April. Congratulations to our 7th grade families for logging a total of 887 hours! It is not too late to log your hours and it is quicker than ever. Please Click HERE to log all hours in one entry. Thank you!

Kudos: As we begin Staff Appreciation week, it is important to acknowledge each and every member of the Westlake Charter School Staff. Every single staff member who sets foot on our campus has made a huge impact on our student’s education, welfare, safety and more. Please be sure to thank them all if you have the opportunity.
