At our *Almost* End of Year staff celebration, we awarded our Teacher and Classified Staff of the Year. Congratulations to Sabrina Jackson and Daniel Orr on their well-deserved recognition!
Our Kindergarten Explorers had a field lesson to the Cosumnes River Preserve where they explored nature and had a great time absorbing so much knowledge.

Calling All Explorer Volunteers 30:30:30:
Families, as we look forward to the opening of our new campus, we have BIG PLANS! However, these plans will not be successful without you. Our first opportunity is to tackle our School Arrival and Dismissal Program. We are calling for 30 Volunteers a Day, to serve 30 Minute Shifts, for the first 30 Days of School. Volunteers will help with our DAILY Walking School Bus, our Parking Lot procedures and helping students find their way to Westlake. We will need every family to make our school opening a success, so please, watch THIS VIDEO and then head over to our Volunteer Form to give us an idea of what shifts you are most interested in working during the first 30 days.
Yearbook: Westlake still has 2016-2017 yearbooks for sale! Yearbooks are on sale for $20. Click HERE to place an order. Our school has purchased a limited quantity, so they are first come, first serve!
Awards Ceremonies: Our Academic Awards Ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, June 13th:
8:30 AM: 4th Grade Awards ceremony – Del Paso cafeteria
9:15 AM: 6th & 7th Grade Award ceremony – Pebblewood cafeteria
10:00 AM: 5th Grade Award ceremony – Pebblewood cafeteria
WAVE Volunteer Ice Cream Social: Please join us for the WAVE Volunteer Appreciation Ice Cream Social next Wednesday, June 7th from 6-7pm in the Del Paso Campus Quad. Bring the whole family to celebrate and receive recognition for volunteering this year at WCS. There will be a special gift for all families who completed at least 30 hours of service to our amazing school! Please RSVP HERE!
Volunteer Hours: There is still time to log your hours for the 16/17 school year! Just click HERE to record your hours on the Volunteer Builder site. Please note that the final day to record volunteer hours for this school year is June 16th. Any hours completed after June 14th should be applied to the next school year. Fireworks Booth: You can also get started on your hours for next year and help WCS raise money! WAVE is once again hosting a fireworks booth this summer. We have a NEW LOCATION and we need your help to make it as successful as possible. Our stand will now be located at 3501 Del Paso Road in the Walgreens parking lot facing El Centro. Field Day: The end of the year is near and that means Field Day is right around the corner! Field Day will be held on Wednesday, June 14th from 9:30 AM to 11:20 AM. To help us celebrate all of our students’ hard work, we will need your help. Click HERE to see how you can help. Note: dismissal on the last day of school is at 12:00pm for all students K-4 grade.
