Celebrations
We had an amazing turnout for our Senior Night at the last home games for our Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball teams, where our senior athletes and their families were honored for their hard work and dedication. Thank you to all who helped make these events so special!
What a spectacular display of talent and community our students put together at the K-12 Talent Show Friday evening. Congratulations to all those who participated to share a night of creativity and joy!
Our first grade Explorers have used observations of the sun, moon, and stars to describe predictable patterns. To reinforce concepts learned in the classroom, Explorers visited the Planetarium at California State University of Sacramento and had a stellar time! #JoyfulLearning

Coffee Talk Update: We’re excited to host two Coffee Talks for Westlake families in March: Friday, March 6th at 8:30 AM in the K–8 Library, and Tuesday, March 10th at 6:00 PM at the High School. We’ll share discussion topics in advance so families know what to expect and can plan to attend. Please note this is an updated change from last week’s Weekly as we work to create more access and opportunity for everyone to connect.
Share Topics for Future Coffee Talks: We’d love your input on future Coffee Talk topics. Whether it’s something you’d like to hear from WAVE, the Westlake administration, or the broader school community, this is a great way to help shape future conversations. The form only takes a few minutes, and you’re welcome to share as many ideas as you’d like. CLICK HERE to submit your ideas here.
Logging Hours: If you’ve volunteered 30 minutes or more, please take a quick moment to CLICK HERE to log your hours. Whether it was helping in the classroom, supporting the Olympic Triathlon, Bingo Night, or the Fall Festival, every hour counts! Tracking volunteer time helps us meet our school’s charter commitments and shows the incredible impact our families make. It takes less than a minute — let’s see which grade level can log the most hours!
Kudos: Shoutout to our 8th grade families for logging 271 hours (64% of their 420-hour goal) and our 11th grade families for reaching 194 hours — just six hours shy of 200 and 46% of their annual goal! It’s exciting to see our middle and high school families stepping up, especially as we’ve seen strong support historically from our K–5 grades. The growth in January and February has been inspiring. Keep up the amazing work, and don’t forget to log those hours so your grade level gets full credit!
