Our students have been out exploring the world, bringing learning to life through some incredible field lessons! The Junior Class toured Chico State, WCHS’s Delta Club learned about sustainability at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, and Fifth Grade Explorers dove into hands-on science at MOSAC. Huge thanks to our staff for coordinating these experiences and supporting real-world #JoyfulLearning!

Our College Fair at WCHS was an exciting step toward the future for our high school students! As part of College and Career Week, representatives from a wide range of colleges and universities visited our campus to share valuable information and answer student questions about academics, campus life, and the admissions process. The energy was high as students explored options and imagined possibilities for life after high school. We're proud to create opportunities like this that inspire and empower our students to dream big and plan for their futures!

WCHS Student/Visitor Parking & Drop-off/Pick-up Update: When students return from Spring Break on Tuesday, April 22nd, student and visitor parking spots on West Entrance Road will no longer be available. We’ve partnered with our neighbors at the Mattress Distribution Center to provide temporary student and visitor parking in front of their business, however, parking spots in front of our neighboring business, Shop Heroic, need to remain free for Heroic customers. In addition, our staff parking spots continue to be reserved for WCS Staff.

West Entrance will be closing entirely for traffic which will impact those that do drop off and pick up at that location.  We do not yet have an exact date confirmed, though we anticipate it will be closed in the next few weeks.   We encourage families and students to start considering alternative pick-up and drop-off locations in preparation for the closure.  We will continue to communicate to families when we have more details on the exact date of the closure.

Juniors- CAASPP Testing: Our 11th grade Explorers will begin CAASPP testing on Wednesday, April 23rd. It’s essential that students are present and on time for each testing day. This is an important opportunity for our students to demonstrate all they’ve learned. Please make sure they get plenty of rest the night before and come to school with their school-issued Chromebook fully charged. The testing schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 23: English Language Arts
  • Wednesday, April 30: Math
  • Wednesday, May 14: Science

Let’s work together to set our students up for success—encourage your student to give their best effort, stay focused, and take pride in showing what they know.

WCHS Charter Bowl Championship, April 25th: Don’t miss the WCHS Charter Bowl Championship Flag Football game where our winners from our Fall Charter Bowl will compete. Who will win between our Freshmen and Junior classes? Come out and support the teams and find out! Bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the game!

  • When: Friday, April 25th from 4:30 – 7:00 PM
  • Where: WCS K-8 Campus Field

WCHS Prom: We’re excited to announce that Prom for Juniors and Seniors will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at Our Place in Old Sacramento. If students plan to bring a guest who is not a Junior or Senior at WCHS, they must submit a completed guest pass form and have it approved before purchasing a ticket for their guest. Tickets are now available for $65, and guest pass forms can be picked up from Mrs. Grimaldi. Don’t wait—make sure all forms are submitted and tickets are purchased on time so everyone can enjoy a magical night!
