WCHS proudly celebrated its second-ever Club Fundraising Fair, where student organizations from across campus came together to sell delicious food and creative wares—including tacos and hand-crocheted flowers—all in support of their clubs. With beautiful weather and a lively atmosphere, both students and teachers had a great time enjoying the festivities and showing their support for the amazing work our clubs are doing!

WCHS Student Parking & Drop-off/Pick-up Update: We have been notified by the owners of the former arena site, that West Entrance Road will be closing for the remainder of the school year while they develop the infrastructure for the site.  This will directly impact student parking and those that use West Entrance Road for drop-off and pick-up.

When students return from Spring Break on Monday, April 22nd, parking on West Entrance Road will no longer be available. West Entrance Road will eventually be closed for pick-up and drop-off as well, however, we are currently unsure of the exact date of the closure.

Temporary student parking will be relocated to the parking spots in front of the Mattress Distribution Center. More information on these changes is to come, however, we wanted to give families as much notice as possible to begin planning for these changes.

Juniors- CAASPP Testing:  Our 11th grade Explorers will begin CAASPP testing on Wednesday, April 23rd. It’s essential that students are present and on time for each testing day. This is an important opportunity for our students to demonstrate all they’ve learned. Please make sure they get plenty of rest the night before and come to school with their school-issued Chromebook fully charged. The testing schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 23: English Language Arts
  • Wednesday, April 30: Math
  • Wednesday, May 14: Science

Let’s work together to set our students up for success—encourage your student to give their best effort, stay focused, and take pride in showing what they know.

Juniors – Cal-SOAP Assembly: The California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) will be back on campus on Thursday, April 10th to support our current 11th graders.  All 11th graders will attend an assembly to review Financial Aid information.  This is a valuable opportunity for our juniors to get a head start on the financial aid process, understand key deadlines, and ask any questions they may have.
