Our Westlake Charter High School teachers are bringing learning to life through food in creative and engaging ways! Alice Du-Fontanilla led a hands-on vitamin lab in Nutrition, while Alex Palmer has students cooking up a storm in Planting a Revolution and Tyler Kanemasu-Mar is exploring the chemistry of cooking in his science classes. Thank you all for making complex concepts more tangible through interactive and meaningful lessons.

Our Eighth Grade Explorers had a blast in studying genetics as they got hands-on with DNA extraction from strawberries! Students carefully followed each step of the process, learning how to isolate DNA from the fruit’s cells. This fun and engaging experiment brought the world of genetics to life and allowed them to see science in action. A huge congratulations to our Explorers for their curiosity and teamwork!
