2024-25 Academic Calendar: CLICK HERE to reference the 2024-25 Academic Calendar which was approved at the WCS Board Meeting on January 11th. The 2024-25 school year will start on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 and end on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025. If you have any questions regarding the calendar, please contact [email protected].
2024-25 Lottery – Application Deadline January 31st: Our 2024-25 lottery will close THIS Wednesday, January 31st at 4:00 PM! Current students do not need to fill out an application to continue their enrollment at WCS; however, siblings do need to fill out lottery applications to attend. Spread the word and encourage friends and family to visit JoinWestlake.com to apply today. Eighth Grade families, we are saving your spot in ninth grade, so no need to apply. However, this spring we will reach out to ask you to formally accept your spot once the lottery has run.

K-5 Family Dance – Enchanted Evening: WAVE’s Inaugural K-5 Family Dance entitled “Enchanted Evening” is THIS Saturday, February 3rd from 5:30 – 8:30 PM! Come out for an evening of music, dancing, food, and games! There are still tickets available, so purchase yours for $15/person using cash or card at the Maybrook Gate each morning or via Venmo (Username: @wave-foundation). Pedestrian Safety Campaign Update: A heartfelt thank you to our incredible family community for dedicating your time to volunteer and collect valuable data in four key areas of our school. Your efforts contribute significantly to our shared goals. As we prioritize safety, we invite you to stay tuned for additional information about how you can further contribute to our safety initiatives. Look out for details about the safety launch, beginning the week of February 26th through March 8th. Your commitment to our community’s well-being is truly appreciated.
Presidents Week: Both campuses and BASE will be closed for Presidents Week Monday February 19th through Friday, February 23rd. We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, February 26th.
After School Live – MS Volleyball: Sign-ups for our middle school volleyball program have ended and teams have been formed. An email was sent to families of participating Explorers on 1/28 with the schedule of practice and game dates. If you haven’t received the email, please reach out to [email protected].

Ninth Grade Field Lesson to Sonoma State: Our ninth grade students will be exploring the Sonoma State campus on Monday, February 5th. Students will have a chance to tour the campus, learn about the CSU application requirements and experience eating in the dining hall. Permission slips were sent home with 9th graders earlier this week and need to be returned by Thursday, February 2nd.
Boys Volleyball Tryouts: We’ll be launching our Boys Volleyball season with tryouts for the varsity and junior varsity teams on Tuesday, February 6th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM and Friday, February 9th from 5:30 – 7:00 PM. Tryouts will take place in the gym on our K-8 campus at 2680 Mabry Drive. Students must have current athletic paperwork and valid sports physicals submitted online through www.HomeCampus.com prior to participating in team tryouts. Students are encouraged to attend both tryout dates but must attend at least one day to be eligible for a team. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): Our 11th grade students will have the opportunity to take the SAT here on campus during the school day on Wednesday, March 13th. Students must opt-in to participate in testing. CLICK HERE for the form to opt in if you would like your 11th grader to take the SAT on March 13th.
NASA Hunch Judging: We are excited that WCHS will be hosting a preliminary round of the NASA Hunch Culinary Challenge. The competition will take place in WCHS’s Commons on Wednesday, February 28th from 4:30 – 5:30 PM. Do you or someone you know have a culinary background? Would you be interested in being a judge for this event? Please reach out to Lila McIver at [email protected] to express your interest in being a NASA Hunch Judge.
Call for Coaches: WCHS is looking for coaches who want to build school community and be a game-changer in the lives of students. We currently have a need for a Boys Junior Varsity Volleyball coach and Varsity Girls Soccer assistant coach. If you’re interested, please reach out to [email protected].
K-5 Family Dance: This Saturday, February 3rd is our K-5 family dance! Join us at 5:30 PM for an evening of music, dancing, food, and games! Tickets are still available for purchase until the event is sold out:

International Festival: Westlake has a beautifully diverse community of families from cultures all over the world. Save the date for our 19th Annual International Festival on Saturday, April 27th. Planning is already under way! We need volunteers to help with planning, setup, event day fun, clean up, and, the highlight of our International Festival: The Cultural Booths hosted by our very own WCS families. We are in need of booth hosts to make this event a success!
- Cultural Booth Hosts may provide a small sampling of native cuisine, cultural artifacts, a children’s activity/game and/or anything else you would like to demonstrate or display. The booth can be as simple or complex as you would like. We would love to have as many cultures represented as possible. If you are interested in hosting a cultural booth, representing your family’s culture and heritage you can reach out to [email protected].
Volunteer: Want to get involved? Westlake provides many different opportunities to spend time and contribute to your students’ school life. Would you like to volunteer in the classroom assisting your child’s teacher with in class or home projects, or volunteer with our fun parent community to plan and host events?
