Building Toward 2025: As we look toward 2025, when we will graduate our first senior class of students and send them to college! This gives us the next 30 months to build our pathways to graduation, and we are more excited and more invested than ever! During these next 2 plus years we will align our K-12 programs, seek our next full accreditation, and ensure that our programs lead to our ambitions expectations. To bring this work to life, we are excited to announce two staffing position moves that we hope you will help us celebrate:
- Effective immediately, Mrs. Emily Battin will be promoted to Director of K-12 School Leadership/acting High School Principal. Mrs. Battin will continue as our acting High School Principal until June. Beginning in the 2023 – 2024 Mrs. Battin will supervise principals at each school, functioning in her new capacity as Director of K-12 Leadership.
- Beginning in the fall of 2023, Mrs. Lila McIver will be promoted to Westlake Charter High School Principal, and will work under the direct supervision of Mrs. Battin.
Please help us congratulate both Mrs. Battin and Mrs. McIver!

6th-10th Presentation: In response to an incident in a middle school area of our campus this week, our administrative and counseling teams gave a presentation to 6th-10th grade classes about the importance of addressing hate speech in our school community. Our students engaged in a conversation about the power of communication between members of our community. Students responded well to the message that as Upstanders, we are all empowered to respond to any perceived hate speech by speaking with a trusted adult or using the digital reporting form located on the front of our school’s website. We are proud of how our students are responding to this information by discussing these important topics with respect and responsibility.
