Talent Show: Save the Date – Friday, February 17th @ 6:00 PM for our K-12 Talent Show! Come show your WCS spirit by supporting our performers! Auditions will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 on our K8 campus.

WAVE Coffee Talk: Join us on Thursday, February 9th for our WAVE Coffee Talk at the Westlake Charter High School campus,  4400 East Commerce Way,  Sacramento, CA 95834. We’ll get the conversation started at 8:30 am and we’d love to have you join!

2023-24 Lottery – Application Deadline January 31st : Our 2023-24 lottery will be closed in 2 days! Current students do not need to fill out an application to continue their enrollment at WCS; however, siblings do need to fill out lottery applications to attend. Spread the word and encourage friends and family to visit joinwestlake.com to apply today. 8th Grade families, we are saving your spot in 9th grade, so no need to apply, however, this spring we will reach out to ask you to formally accept your spot once the lottery has run. 

K-8 Announcements

8th Grade Information Night: Please join our principals, Mrs. Battin and Mrs. Ghalambor, for the eighth grade Parent Information Night on Monday, January 30th at 6:00 PM. We will meet in the Campus Commons on our High School campus located at 4400 E Commerce Way. Our 8th grade families will learn about end-of-year activities including the Santa Cruz Trip, promotion requirements, the 8th grade dance, and more!

Middle School Dance: Our student leadership team is preparing for our first middle school dance of the year! The DJ, food, and photo booth fun will take place on Friday, February 10 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the gym. If you are interested in chaperoning or able to donate food for the event CLICK HERE.

February Break BASE Survey: February break is right around the corner, and our BASE team wants to hear from you—are you interested in sending your Explorer(s) to BASE over February break? Please CLICK HERE to complete an interest survey. Check back next week to find out if there is enough interest to open BASE over February break.

Walk & Bike to School in Winter Giveaway: All students who walk or bike to school and have their Jibe Trip Card scanned at least 10 times in January and February will be entered to win a $25 Target gift card. Five winners will be randomly selected on March 1st. Be sure to visit a parent in an orange apron to have your card scanned or sign up to participate. CLICK HERE to learn more.

Course Selection Process: . Students received the form for their course selection during Advisory.  Students will have until January 30th to complete their selection form.  Our 10th-12th grade students have the option to select Honors Classes for any of their Core Classes. All students will have the option to opt into an honors course at the start of that class after the instructor has shared the requirements for the course. 9-11th grade Explorer Families will have an opportunity to learn about scheduling courses during our 4-year planning event.  Be on the lookout for this

Volunteer Log Competition: It’s time to log those hard earned volunteer hours! The grade level with the most hours logged between January 28th and February 28th wins a grade level prize! Please visit Westlake Charter School – Volunteer to log your hours in just a couple minutes. Looking for volunteer opportunities? International Festival: Save the date for the 18th annual International Festival on Saturday, April 1st from 3-6pm. We currently need volunteers for the planning committee and cultural booths to get started on the event. Kudos: Our Dos Coyotes restaurant fundraiser was a big success thanks to so many families and staff. Huge thanks to Gurpreet Sandhu for scheduling these events throughout the year at various locations across Natomas. Be sure to save the date for the next two…Nations on February 28th and Sourdough & Co. on March 24th.
