WCS is Hiring: Did you hear? WCS is looking for substitute teachers, as well as full and part time positions! Instructional Aide and support staff positions are now open. We are looking for innovative, collaborative, positive staff members with a growth mindset. Do you know someone that would be a good fit at Westlake Charter School? Call for Coaches: Our 6-8 basketball season is coming soon! We are looking for ten high school or adult volunteer coaches. Coaching materials will be provided and Coach Sterling will be present every day to support. Practices and games are 3:20-4:10 and start after October break. Please email Sterling Wynne at [email protected] if you are available to help. This program is not possible without community volunteers, so please spread the word!
K-8 Announcements
Gate Times: Our campus gates are locked from 8:30 am when school begins and are unlocked again at 3:15 pm for dismissal. We appreciate your support keeping our campus and students safe. Students are not permitted to open gates for family members or staff. Please do not ask students to do so.
Sign up for basketball: We are excited to kick off our 6-8th basketball season in just a few weeks. CLICK HERE to sign up your middle school students to play!
Suicide Prevention Week: September 6th through September 9th our counseling staff will launch our suicide prevention week of activities for our middle school Explorers. Grades 6th – 8th will have lunch activities as well as visits from the counseling team during their Advisory periods. These lessons and activities will provide students with resources to assist them in understanding how to get help if they are having ideas about self-harm or suicide. Our counselors and teachers recognize the sensitive nature of the topic of suicide and we are glad to have the opportunity to inform and educate our students so that they are safe. WCHS Games of the Week: Come out and cheer on our Explorer Athletes at the next Westlake Charter High School games of the 22-23 fall season! All home games will be played on our K-8 campus.

Food Truck Friday: Friday, September 16th is Food Truck Friday! High school students will be able to purchase alternative lunch items from our Food Truck Friday Event during lunch block. Prices range from $8-$13 per meal. Our regular lunch service will still be offered on Friday as well. We will have the following Food Trucks on campus:

- Mykonos Gyros
- Daisy’s Desserts

Monthly WAVE Meeting: The WAVE Meeting has been rescheduled to make sure all of the Sacramento Republic fans can watch the U.S. Open Cup final game. The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 8th at 5:30pm at the K-8 campus in the covered dining area. A copy of the meeting agenda can be found by CLICKING HERE We will be discussing the Fall Festival, Bingo Night, Olympic Triathlon, and other upcoming events. If you are interested in learning more about WAVE or finding out how to get involved, this is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about our fantastic parent group.
Bingo Night: Please join us Friday, September 16th at 6pm for a wild and exciting night of FREE Family Bingo at our K-8 campus. The evening will be full of competition, prizes, snacks, and laughs. You do not want to miss our first community event of the year!

Fall Festival: It’s not too early to “Save the Date” for the 2022 Westlake Charter School Fall Festival! This family favorite will take place at our K-8 campus on Saturday, October 15th from 3-6pm. Please CLICK HERE or contact [email protected] to find out how you can help!
Olympic Triathlon Committee: The Olympic Triathlon is our largest fundraiser of the year and we are looking for volunteers to help us make it the most successful one ever. The event is quickly approaching and we need help with ideas, planning, and execution. Please contact Amber Hustead at [email protected] to learn more or join the OT committee. We cannot do it without your help!
Kudos: Picture Day on both campuses was a huge success. Huge thanks to our fantastic operations team for putting this together. Picture Day is always such a happy day at Westlake Charter School!
