Reopening School: The week of March 15th our K-2 students will start coming on campus and all students in K-2 will begin their new schedule that is outlined in the Guidebook on page 14. Our 3rd-8th grade students will remain in their current distance learning schedule this week. 3rd grade 8:45am-1:15pm and 4th-8th grade 8:30am-1:15pm.
We want to make sure every family had the opportunity to read the Reopening School Update that was sent on Friday, February 26th. Click HERE to read the important update. If you completed the Reopening Survey, you should have received an email last week confirming the choice for your student to return to school or continue in distance learning, as well as confirming the Cohort of your student. If you did not receive that information, please email [email protected].
Guidebook to Reopening: Click HERE to read the Guidebook to Reopening. Many of your questions will be answered here about what it looks like to return to campus in Level 3: Baseline.
Trimester 2 Parent Survey: The Parent Survey is taken at the end of each trimester. Click HERE to answer six questions to rate your family’s experience at Westlake Charter School during the 2020-21 school year. Please complete the survey by March 22 at 4:00 PM.
Yearbook Pictures – Due 3/22: If your student did not get their school picture taken at the beginning of the school year, we still want to include them in our yearbook! This year we have the option to add yearbook photos from home. Please make sure your child wears their school uniform. Click HERE to upload a picture by Friday, March 22nd. Enter your student’s school ID number (their lunch number), then just follow the prompt from there. If you need your student’s ID number, email [email protected]
BASE: During Level 3: Baseline, our BASE program will be available for students. BASE will not be a drop-in program, due to the need to ensure social distancing, families will be required to make reservations and pre-pay for BASE. On Distance Learning scheduled days 8:10am-3:00pm BASE will be $45/day and on in-classroom scheduled days 11:00am-3:00pm BASE will be $25/day.

Seasonal Allergies: Our Return to Campus date coincides with an increase of seasonal allergies in Sacramento. Some seasonal allergy symptoms overlap with COVID-19 symptoms shown on page 9 of the Guidebook to Reopening. If your student has seasonal allergies, please reach out to your healthcare provider for documentation that the symptoms are typical of their underlying symptoms. Healthcare documentation is required to return to school after 24 hours without fever and improving symptoms.
In case you missed it:
Office Appointments: During Distance Learning, our office is not open for visitors. If you need to pick up a device, headphones, or missed a Distance Learning Kit pick up, please schedule an appointment to pick up your item. Without an appointment, we may not have your items prepared, or may not have staff available to help. For virtual support, you can call 916-567-5760 or email [email protected]. Click HERE to make an appointment to pick up your item.
Virtual Science Night: Please join us on Wednesday, March 31st from 6-6:30pm for a Virtual Family STEM Night hosted by Sierra Nevada Journeys. We hope to see you there!
International Festival: This annual event is going virtual and we need your help. Each year at the International Festival families share food, traditions and information about their culture while taking a trip around the world to experience the cultures of other Explorer families. This virtual event will launch on Sunday, April 25th. Are you interested in sharing recipes, crafts, traditions or information about your culture? This can be a video, picture, recipe, dance or just about anything else. We want to make sure as many cultures as possible are represented! Please click HERE to sign up or send an email to [email protected] to learn more.
