Our 7th Grade Math teachers are using great practices to review and prepare students for their upcoming benchmark. They even included an Integer Escape Room, where students met in small groups and solved puzzles together to escape together. It emphasized math skills and collaboration amongst their students.

Announcements

Reopening Update: While the governor has released a plan to safely reopen schools, we continue to work with our local partners to ensure we can meet each of the requirements contained in these plans. The governor’s plan calls for schools to be prepared to reopen when the COVID19 transmission rate gets below 28 new average daily cases per 100,000 inhabitants of a county. Sacramento County is currently hovering around 50 new average daily cases per 100,000 and therefore we will continue to encourage everyone to follow the guidelines to help reduce the spread of the virus in our community.  The governor’s plan also calls for weekly testing for both students and staff, and these logistics are being led by our partners at SCOE through a new partnership they have entered with a testing company.

We will continue to serve our students through distance learning and work hard to ensure our students are receiving the support they need and deserve until such time that conditions make it possible to reopen.

Kudos: Recently the social media posts about our upcoming lottery, the opening of our much anticipated High School and staff hiring have been shared over and over again. It has been wonderful to read about why families love Westlake Charter, what they are looking forward to at our High School and the genuine appreciation of our incredible staff. Thank you for sharing your experiences and making sure more families have the same opportunity!
