6th Grade Families: Our 8th grade WEB leaders are hosting a second Google Meet Student Social on Friday, September 4th, from 1:30PM – 2:00PM. Students will receive an email the day before with link information. We look forward to some fun games and activities! See you there Explorers!
Distance Learning Feedback: Thank you to more than 200 families who have reached out to our help desk for support during our first 2 weeks of school! Because of our partnership, we were able to troubleshoot issues that may impact other families as well. One trend that we noticed is that families were in need of headphones so their student could hear instruction and improve focus. Click HERE to schedule a time to pick up headphones if your student has this need. Please continue to reach out to our team so we can collaborate on solutions. Click HERE for our help desk information.
Food Services Available at all NUSD sites: NUSD Food services will serve lunch at Westlake from 10:30am to 12:30pm Monday through Friday. This will be the drive-thru format that was used for the summer meals program, however, students will be charged based on eligibility as they would during the regular school year. Lunches are available at any NUSD site from 11:30-12:30pm, so feel free to go to the site closest to you – just bring your student’s ID/lunch number. Click HERE to apply for Free/Reduced Price Meals. Starting August 27th, meals will be served at all NUSD sites from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Click HERE for more information.
BASE Distance Learning Camps: We are taking reservations for BASE Distance Learning Camps! Please click HERE to reserve a spot in our BASE Distance Learning Camps. Space in each grade level Distance Learning Camp is limited to ensure social distancing – reserve your spot today!
Counselor’s Corner: Each month our School Counselor, Jessica Krivoy, will be publishing a newsletter intended to spark ideas, provide support and offer reassurance. Click HERE to view September’s edition on the Counselor’s Corner page.

Monthly WAVE Meetings: Once a month we host a parent/guardian meeting to discuss building community, fundraising, events and so much more. Our meetings are now virtual! Please join us on Thursday, September 3rd at 6:30pm to discuss spirit wear, virtual events and simply get to know each other. Please join us at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88391475927?pwd=M3RYVC92NUNKRjNXNkZpZHVmRjR3Zz09.
Ideas: WAVE is looking for new ideas! We are rethinking community building events, fundraisers and ways to support our staff. We want to hear from you! Please email your ideas and thoughts to [email protected]. Thank you!
Kudos: The teacher and parent partnership is more important now than ever before. Both are relying on communication, cooperation and understanding during this new way of learning. Events like Back to School Night help strengthen this partnership and get to know each other. Thank you to the teachers for putting together a fantastic night and to all the parents who joined in to learn more about the school year. We are always better together!
