Walktober: Walktober started off a success with over 250 participants joining us for the International Walk to School Day! Our goal for Walktober is to walk the equivalent miles of walking across the United States. So far we have walked 390 miles, saved 15.6 gallons of gas, and burned 15,611 calories! We also have a prize for the class with the most participants. Ms. People’s class is in the lead, with Ms. Block’s class following closely behind. Keep recording those trips Explorers!

Volunteer Page: The WAVE Volunteer Page is a great place to find out about upcoming events, sign up to volunteer, log your volunteer hours and check out what our amazing WCS volunteers have been working on. Volunteer hours include anything you were doing to support our staff, students and community. This includes attending WAVE meetings, take home projects, field lessons, coaching a WCS team, working at an event, opening car doors during drop off, buying treats for the cake walk, making chili for the Chili Cook-Off and so much more!
After School Sports Snack Bar: Our new Sports Program will have snacks available at all games this year. We need a parent or team to take on the role of keeping track of stock and managing the schedule. Additionally, we need parents to sell snacks during the games. Please contact Amber Hustead at [email protected] to get involved today!
Kudos: Our fabulous Walking School Bus program would not be possible without a committed team of volunteers focused on getting our students to and from school safely and helping reduce traffic on and around our campus. WCS students are able to walk to school from Burberry Park five mornings a week and then walk back to the park five afternoons a week. Thank you to each and every adult who has helped with Walking School Bus this year! Special thanks to Kristyn Escobedo, Ron Tapping, Rob Hedrick, Jeree Hedrick, Nu-Gina Rogers, Christie London and Sharon Rona.
