Book Fair: If you haven’t had a chance to shop the Book Fair, you still have time! The Book Fair is open through Wednesday, October 27th. It will be open Monday and Tuesday from 2-4:00pm and Wednesday from 1-4:00pm.
Parent Teacher conferences: Parent Teacher conferences will be held November 13th-17th. Click Here to sign up for your student’s conference. Click Here for instructions on how to sign up. We look forward to having 100% of our families attending a 1st trimester conference. Remember, November 13th-17th will be early dismissal for all grades to allow for time to meet with each of our families.
High School Info Night: We look forward to having our families come out to join us for our High School Information Night on October 25th from 6:00-8:00pm. During this event, families will hear from many area high schools and will get a chance to meet with the schools to ask questions and gather information. This is a great event for anyone considering high school options for their student. The following schools will be in attendance: Sac High, NP3, NCS-PFAA, NCS-VLA, Natomas High, Inderkum, Jesuit, Christian Brothers, Leroy Greene Academy and Rex & Margaret Fortune High School
Red Ribbon Week October 23th-October 27th: Red Ribbon Week is almost here! This will be a week of simple, fun events for the school. Students will engage in classroom activities, receive stickers and backpack tags, and have the opportunity to participate in two dress up spirit days. On Wednesday, October 25th students can wear neon colors to school to show they are too bright for drugs and on Friday, October 27th students can dress for success by showing up in an outfit that represents their future career.
Bullying Prevention: Bullying Preventions Assemblies are taking place from October 18th-31st. Please read and discuss the following pledge with your student.

Fall Festival: Thank you so much to our amazing Fall Festival Committee! Everything from the games to the haunted house to the classroom baskets were a perfect way to celebrate fall at Westlake Charter. Thank you to so many families for donating items, volunteering and coming out to enjoy the season!
Science Night: Please join us on Friday, November 3rd for Lawrence Hall of Science’s presentation of Solids, Liquids and Gases. You will be treated to a dynamic science show with demonstrations that will amaze all ages and exciting audience participation! The first show begins at 5:30pm and the second at 6:40pm. Choose the show that works best for your family and be sure to enjoy delicious food at the taco stand before or after the show. You won’t want to miss this event!
Olympic Triathlon: Our 10th annual Westlake Charter Olympic Triathlon is launching this week! The Triathlon is not just about fundraising. It is about celebrating our three specialties of Art, PE and Spanish. On Thursday, November 30th our students will participate in a special day of learning on the Olympic Triathlon Event Day. This day is completely staffed and planned by our parent volunteers. We need you help to make this day fun and successful for our school and students. Please be on the lookout for more information coming home this week and an event day sign up soon. Lake Crest Village Trick-or-Treating: Your family is invited to throw on a costume and go trick-or-treating at Lake Crest Village on Saturday, October 28th from 3-5:00pm. WCS will earn 500 bonus points in the Shopping to Educate program for every student that submits the event flyer to the Guest Services table at the event.
