Celebrations:

  • Parents Go To School Night – Fall Edition was such a great night of learning for our community!  Thank you to all the families who came out to make this night a success.
  • 6th grade science students are deep into their “To Infinity and Beyond” PBL project.  During this unit, students have been using the coding skills they learned in Debbie Porter’s elective class to produce their deliverables!
  • Thanks to all the families that are following our social media activities on Twitter and Facebook! Each month we are highlighting a Core Value and celebrating students, families and staff for demonstrating the WCS Core Values in our community!

Announcements:

For the Whole School

Fall Festival: Our 5th annual WCS Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 2:00-6:00PM.  This will be an afternoon for family and friends filled with fun, games, food, and silent auction baskets.

  • Volunteer to help out by signing up with your child’s teacher or room parent (or email [email protected]).
  • The Treat Walk needs donations of yummy treats. Contact [email protected] to sign up
  • The amazing Classroom Silent Auction baskets will need donations as well. 100% of the proceeds go directly to your child’s class. Look for more information this week and next from teachers and room parents.

For Del Paso

Walk to School Day:  Wednesday, October 14th is Walk to School Day.  We will meet at the Walgreens shopping center at 8:00AM and walk from there to campus.  Breakfast will be provided for all participating students and parents. Walking to school can also include riding a bike, using a scooter or skating. All this is happening before school, so be sure to come early!

Walktober: During the month of October we will be celebrating WALKTOBER! Your student should have received a WALKTOBER tracking sheet in their blue communication folder with directions on how to log walking trips.  If you did not receive a tracking sheet, please contact your student’s teacher.

For Pebblewood

Picture Day:  Picture Day will be held Thursday, October 22nd. On picture day, all students must be in uniform.  Please look for order forms coming home soon.

Infinite Campus Student Portal: Students in 4th-8th grade will be bringing home directions to access the Infinite Campus student portal this week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your student’s homeroom/advisory teacher or [email protected].

NWEA Testing:  We will begin testing on Tuesday, October 13th.  This week, 6-8th grade students will participate in the math test during regular math classes. In addition, 5th grade will test on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in math, language, and reading.  Please make sure your student is at school and on time during testing.
