Parents Go To School Night – Fall Edition: CLICK HERE for all the information about our Parents Go to School Night – Fall Edition on September 30th, at 6PM on our Del Paso Campus.
Each year, WCS hosts a Parents Go To School Night in the Spring: the Spring event is staffed by 20+ teachers who present lessons from a wide variety of categories. The Fall Edition is built around only seven sessions, presented by members from our administrative team. Parents will begin in the cafeteria, then break out to sessions of their choosing. Each participant will have time to attend two of the six sessions! Each session is action packed so choose wisely and attend the two sessions that catch your attention! RSVP here to reserve your spot in your favorite break out sessions.
Connect Ed: Click Here to read the letter that was sent home in your child’s backpack regarding Connect Ed.
CAASPP: Families, we hope that by now you have heard that the new California Assessments of Student Progress and Performance (CAASPP) have been published by the state of California. Our results are posted on the web at www.cde.ca.gov and our individual paper copies for each student will be sent home as soon as we receive them. We are very proud of the performance of our students in this first round of assessments and we feel that these scores show that we are leading in the area of transitioning to the Common Core State Standards. Below is a link to a sample score report, like the one you will receive, once they are delivered to our school.
For Del Paso
Math Monday: Each week we will be releasing Math Monday on Friday evening at 6PM. You can find the link by going to www.westlakecharter.com, then click on WCS, and the Math Monday link is on the right side of the page. One correct answer from each grade level will be randomly selected and those students will be celebrated at Monday’s Morning Line Up.
Progress Reports: This Friday, September 25th your student will be bringing home a mid-trimester progress report. Please take the time to review these two documents with your child and sign them. This is a great time to congratulate your student on their successes, and to make goals for the remainder of the trimester. If you have any questions please remember to reach out to your child’s teacher. Any questions about specialty scores should be directed to your child’s speciality teacher.
