Announcements

2021-22 Academic Calendar: Click HERE for our 2021-22 Academic Calendar. Please use this calendar as a tool to plan your family vacations during our breaks.

Distance Learning Common Lunch: When we created our Distance Learning schedule in the summer, our priority was for a smooth transition for students when they would return to campus. We hadn’t anticipated that we would be in Distance Learning this long. We have heard from several families in FAQs and Coffee Talks, that it would be beneficial to have a common lunch time during Distance Learning. We recognize that changes to schedules can be disruptive, even if it is for the better. If we are still in Distance Learning on February 1st, we are planning to move to a common lunch time for all students at our next checkpoint on February 22nd.

2021-22 Lottery Application Window Now Open: Our 2021-22 lottery is now open, including our first freshman class at Westlake Charter High School! Current students do not need to fill out an application to continue their enrollment at WCS; however, siblings do need to fill out lottery applications to attend. Spread the word and encourage friends and family to visit JoinWestlake.com to apply today.

Afterschool Clubs Volunteers Needed: Afterschool Live Clubs are back! We are looking for parent volunteers to keep the virtual clubs running. Please click HERE to sign up to run a club during our next session of clubs, January 19th thru February 12th.

ASLive Clubs: Afterschool Live Clubs are in full swing and because they are at hit with our kiddos we are extending the current club to January 15th! These clubs are an opportunity for students to socialize/play with peers that share the same interest or explore a new interest. These virtual clubs will run after school from 2:00PM-2:30PM. Click HERE to sign up click HERE for the ASLive Clubs schedule and offerings. Click HERE for Google Meet codes for each club. If you have any questions please reach out to [email protected].

High School Happenings:

We are entering the 3rd week of our Westlake Charter School lottery! This is the first lottery in the history of Westlake Charter School to include 9th grade! You may be wondering how you should celebrate this momentous occasion. The best thing you can do is spread the word! Last week we shared ideas on how you can spread the word:

  1. Text a friend
  2. Share on Social Media
  3. Like and share the Westlake Charter School Social Media page

We are going to run our challenge for one more week! If you have done one of these things or spread the word in another innovative way. Email [email protected] and tell us how you have spread the word about our 9th-grade lottery and you will receive a piece of WCHS SWAG! We can’t wait to see the ways that our community is getting involved in spreading the word.
