Conference Week: Conference week is November 18th – November 22nd. Remember, during conference week we will dismiss early to allow time to meet with each of our families – Kindergarten will dismiss at 1:00 PM and 1st–8th grade will dismiss at 1:30 PM. Middle School Dance: Our middle school Explorers can attend our first middle school dance of the year on Friday, November 22nd! The dance will be held from 5 PM – 6:30 PM in the cafeteria and multi-purpose room. Students can sign up and get their tickets at lunch recess on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,  November 20th – 22nd. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Parents, please pick up your students at the flagpole at 6:30 PM. 

Thanksgiving Break: School will be closed November 25 –November 29th for Thanksgiving Break. Our BASE program will be open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Monday, November 25th & Tuesday, November 26th. 

Lost & Found: Our lost and found is overflowing with jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles and more! Please check for any missing items by Friday, November 22nd. All unclaimed items will be donated over Thanksgiving Break.

Call for Coaches: We are currently looking for Coaches to help with Girls and Boys Basketball! Also we need 4 adults to help with co-ed Dodgeball on Wednesdays. Middle School Winter Athletics Sign-ups are Starting Now: It’s time for the winter Explorer Athletics season! The program is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. No prior experience is necessary to play, just a positive attitude and a growth mindset. Teams will meet twice a week throughout the season for practices and games. Practice days are consistent, but game days vary due to scheduling. Practices and games last from 3:25 – 4:15 every day except Wednesdays.

• Middle school students wanting to participate in Basketball will need to attend the clinics the first week back after winter break. Boys Basketball clinics are Monday and Thursday, January 6th and 9th. Girls Basketball clinics are Tuesday and Friday January 7th and 10th. Regular practice schedule begins Monday, January 13th, and games begin Monday, January 27th.

Whole School Morning Meeting: Whole School Morning meeting: Families are welcome to join us for our end of trimester whole school morning meeting! At the whole school morning meeting, celebrate students and build community in the same way we do in class each day.

Olympic Triathlon Results: The Olympic Triathlon was a fantastic event raising over $42,000 for Westlake Charter School! Congratulations to Mrs. Block’s and Mrs. Hilliard’s class for having the highest classroom total which earned them a class party. Additionally, congratulations to Mrs. Leggett’s and Mrs. Weiner’s class for reaching the highest percentage of participation. They also win a class party!
