Trimester 3 Parent Survey: The Parent Survey is taken at the end of each trimester. Click HERE to to answer six questions to rate your family’s experience at Westlake Charter School during the 2018-19 school year.
Boot Bucks Store: If your child has been working hard biking and walking this year, they have one last chance to spend those boot bucks. 3rd-8th have their Boot Buck store May 21st also at lunch recess. Please remind students to bring their trip scanners to lunch recess. For any questions, please contact Kristyn Escobedo at [email protected]
7th Grade DC Trip Parent Meeting: Our first meeting for our 8th grade trip to DC and New York City will be held on May 22nd at 7 PM in the Library/Media Center. Students brought home packets with information this week. This is an informational meeting and sign-ups are not required. Hope to see you there. Spirit Day – Beach Day: Friday, May 24th wear a Hawaiian shirt, grass skirt, board shorts, or other beach attire. No bathing suits – all shirts must have sleeves.
Field Day/Report Cards: Field day takes place on our last day of school on Wednesday, June 5th. All grades will dismiss at 12:00 pm.
- Report cards will be distributed at 12:00 pm, so please plan to for your student to attend the entire field day.
- If you have an appointment and need to pick your student up early, please plan for extra time as the students will be in rotating stations for field day.
- Also, please note that there will be no afternoon walking school bus on Wednesday, June 5th. We are in need of pop up tents for field day.

K-5 Morning Meeting: Families are welcome to join us for our end of trimester whole school morning meeting! At the whole school morning meeting, we celebrate students and build community in the same way we do in class each day.
- K-2: Wednesday, June 4th, 8:45 AM – 9:30 AM
- 3-5: Wednesday, June 4th, 9:45 AM – 10:30 AM
8th Grade Promotion: 8th grade students should arrive at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 5th to practice promotion – dismiss at 12:00 PM. Promotion will be in the gym at 4:00 PM.

Open House: Our K-8 Open House on Wednesday, May 22 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Chando’s Tacos, Good Dog Hot Dog Cart and Kona Ice will be available from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. We can’t wait to celebrate the growth your students have made in the 2018-19 school year!
6th-8th Advisory Fishbowl: Please join us as our 6th-8th grade take part in our second Advisory Fishbowl. On May 30th from 8:15 AM – 8:57 AM, you will join a small group of 6th-8th grade students and a staff member and engage in a guided conversation. Click HERE to sign up to be a part of this event.
Yearbook Orders: Click HERE to order your 2018-19 yearbook by Friday, May 24th at 3:00 pm. The cost is $20. We have a limited quantity so don’t delay in placing your order – orders will only be filled while supplies last. Yearbooks will be delivered the last week of May
Fireworks Booth: The WCS Fireworks Booth is WAVE’s first fundraiser of the year and is a great chance for you to get a head start on your volunteer hours for next year! We need volunteers to sign up for 106 shifts so there is plenty of opportunity to help out. You can even sign up for more than one shift AND if you volunteer for a shift on the 4th of July, you’ll earn DOUBLE volunteer hours. Also, all volunteers can save an additional 10% off of their purchase.
This year we are back in the Safeway parking lot, and the booth will be busy, so we will really need your help. Please Click HERE to find out how you can help.

Kudos: Thank you to our incredible grade level liaisons for testing out this program and working hard to get important information out to Explorer Families.
