My Princess and Me Dance: The 6th annual My Princess & Me Dance is on February 3rd from 6pm to 8pm. Dads, grandpas, uncles, friends and father-figures are invited to escort their princess (ages 4-13) to this community favorite. Geo Bee: The National Geographic Geography Bee is scheduled for January 23rd, 2018 at 5:30pm. The Bee is an opportunity for 4th-8th grade Explorers who are interested in geography to show off their skills.

Great Kindness/Upstander: All classrooms will be participating in the Great Kindness Challenge next week during Morning Meeting and Advisory.  Explorers will also use next week to focus on the commitment we made in October to being Upstanders when ever we see bullying of any kind.  

Parents go to School Night: Save the date for Parents Go To School Night, where Westlake teachers and staff will be presenting workshop sessions for you! Jan. 31th from 5:30-8pm. GATE Testing: Spring 2018 GATE testing referral forms for students currently enrolled in grades 1st – 8th will be accepted from January 8, 2018 – February 2, 2018. Library Update: We are so excited that our new library furniture will arrive next week! The library will be closed starting January 16th and will reopen on Monday, February 26th.

After School LIVE Supply Donations: Do you have a chess board laying around the house that you keep meaning to use but never do? Walking School Bus: Did you know the Walking School Bus departs Burberry Park every morning at 8am? This is a great way for kids to get some exercise and socialize before the school day begins. We also need parent volunteers to help with the Walking School Bus. Please consider volunteering, it is a good way to get moving and connect with students and other Westlake families. Sacramento Library Homework Zone: Did you know the North Natomas Library offers a Homework Zone program providing free homework assistance for students K-12?  Stop by on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30pm.  No registration necessary.
