Staff Appreciation Survey: Staff Appreciation Week is coming up May 1st through the 5th. You can praise this year’s teacher or thank your teacher from last year! You can appreciate someone from the office or drop a note to a custodian.  Use this form to show our staff how much we all appreciate them. We promise, we will pass the note along and make their day! Practice Your Way to Westlake Day: Before break, we sent home this letter in backpack express as a Call to Action! Step two in our Call to Action is to practice! We are inviting our community to practice their route to our Mabry campus on Saturday, May 13th.  We will round up at Valley Oak Park with coffee and donuts. You will have the opportunity to take a perimeter walking tour of the new campus with Mr. Eick. For those families who are available for an hour of community service, they can join us as we introduce ourselves to our new neighbors.

CAASPP Testing: Westlake Charter School’s 2017 CAASPP testing window is May 11 – June 2, 2017. Click HERE for our 2017 CAASPP Parent Notification Letter for information about CAASPP testing. To access this letter on our website, click the WCS tab to view our Academics page, the notification letter will be available on the sidebar on the right of the page.

WCS Spirit Store: Our Spirit Store is open for orders! We will have some new items available for purchase at the online Spirit Store. The last day for orders will be Monday, May 8th at 5pm.

Parking Lot Placards: Every car picking up an explorer at the Del Paso Campus must have a parking placard displayed.  These placards are to ensure student safety.  If you do not have a placard, you will be asked to pull into a visitor parking space to check your explorer out through the front office. This applies to every vehicle picking up on the curb. If you need extra placards, please contact your child’s teacher.

Open House Showcase: Our showcase event of student learning will be May 3rd from 6:00-7:00pm.  Please make it a priority to attend with your family.  Your students are eager to show off their amazing learning with you!

Spring Pictures: OPTIONAL Spring Picture Day on Friday, April 28th: Spring picture day will be optional this year. All students will have free dress on Friday, April 28th. Only students who have prepaid AND filled out this form will be sent to the photographer to have their picture taken. Picture packets will go home next week. If you would like to have your student’s spring picture taken by Lifetouch, please fill out this form AND prepay online or send payment in the packet.

Spring Dance: Our 6th-8th grade students are invited to attend our Spring Dance on Friday, April 28th from 3:00-4:00pm in the multipurpose room.  Please pick up your child promptly at 4:00pm.  If your child is not picked up by 4:15 then they will be checked in to BASE.
