Good Evening Explorer Families!
This is Mr. Eick the Executive Director of our Westlake Charter School, just a quick couple celebrations before handing it over to our principal, Miss Wilhelm. Families, I love to begin with celebrations, and tonight I have the honor of celebrating some exciting news from our Westlake family: Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Battin on the birth of their beautiful son Maxwell Thomas Battin. If you have been tracking Principal Battin’s Baby Calendar, you’ll realize that Max has come just a bit early, but baby and mommy are doing well! While the Battins focus on their growing family, our Westlake family is in good hands. For months Principal Battin and Assistant Principal Eick have been planning for a seamless transition for our Del Paso Campus and this is what we all anticipate. The events and operations of the Del Paso Campus will continue as they did under Principal Battin, however, during her absence, her duties will be assumed by Assistant Principal Eick. So let’s all congratulate the Battin family on the birth of our newest Explorer.
Families, I hope to see you this week at our WCS Board meeting held Thursday night at 6:30PM on our Pebblewood Campus. To take a look at the week ahead, I will hand it over to Principal Wilhelm, thanks for listening, I’ll see you at school, and as always…Let’s Explore!
Good Evening Families! It is Miss Wilhelm, your principal. I would like to congratulate Mrs. Battin as well. Congratulations Battin Family! This week is going to be an exciting one.
We are heading into our second week of September. September is Attendance Awareness month. It has been great to see so many of our students on time to school each day. Remember you can drop your student off as early as 7:30am to join us on the blacktop. Remember perfect attendance means no tardies and no left earlies. Our October Break is just around the corner and it is a perfect time to plan vacations and appointments during our week off. Let’s see how many of our explorers can make perfect attendance this month!
This week we will kick off our first Spirit Day for the year! This Friday, September 12th is Crazy Hair Day! Let’s see what grade level will have the most school spirit this Friday!
Who’s excited for the Fall Festival on September 27th from 2-6PM on our Del Paso campus? I know I am! This is always a fun filled community event. Are you looking for ways to get involved as a parent? Please look for information coming home from your child’s teacher. Get a head start on your volunteer hours by connecting with your child’s advisory teacher or room parent to donate items towards the Silent Auction Gift Baskets (proceeds go directly to each teacher) In addition, we need help setting up, running booths, and cleaning up during this event. Make sure to ask your teacher how you can help or contact Juanita Balinski[email protected]. You can even donate directly to the event by clicking on this link http://tinyurl.com/k8hta9d.
Is your middle school student looking for community service hours too? Please have them check in with their advisory teacher to sign up for this event! For questions please contact Ana Gatdula [email protected].
Cell Phones on campus. As a friendly reminder your student should not have their cell phone out or on during the school day. We remind the students that it should be from gate to gate. When they enter campus in the morning it should be turned off and stowed away and stay off and away until they exit campus in the afternoon. Thank you for your support in this. Communication that needs to happen between your student and home during the school day should come directly from the school office.
Ok Explorers, don’t forget to visit us on www.westlakecharter.com for more information, we’ll see you at school, and as always…Let’s Explore!
