Celebrations

Our K–8 Open House was a wonderful success! Families enjoyed exploring the dynamic learning experiences happening throughout our campus. We are incredibly thankful to our teachers and staff for creating such thoughtful displays and engaging activities that made the event so special for our families.

Shoutout to Mr. Lennan’s U.S. History class for bringing history to life through their “Baked Depression” project! Students researched and recreated recipes from the 1930s using simple, affordable ingredients like potatoes, rice, and pantry staples to better understand how families survived during the Great Depression. Through cooking, creativity, and historical analysis, students explored the resilience, resourcefulness, and sacrifices of everyday Americans during this challenging time in history.

Last week, we celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week, a time to recognize that caring for our minds is just as important as caring for our bodies. Our School Counselors and School Psychologists planned and arranged activities for our students and staff to encourage connection, awareness, and strategies to support our well being. #BetterTogether

This night is all about expressing our deep gratitude for the energy, time, and heart you’ve poured into making Westlake such a special place for our kids and our community. 💙🧡 We’ll have food, beverages, and a Westlake swag raffle to say thank you. Logging Hours: If you’ve volunteered 30 minutes or more, please take a quick moment to CLICK HERE to log your hours. Whether it was helping in the classroom, supporting the Olympic Triathlon, Bingo Night, or International Festival, every hour counts! It takes less than a minute — let’s see which grade level can log the most hours!
Kudos: A huge shoutout to the WAVE Executive Board, and especially to Whitney Browning and Sandra Crowell for their tireless dedication this school year. Their commitment to Westlake has shown up in every single event we have hosted, and the results speak for themselves. We genuinely could not have done this without them, and that is not an exaggeration. Whitney and Sandra, thank you for everything you pour into this community. We see you, we appreciate you, and Westlake is better because of you!
