September Opportunities to Collaborate:
Connect: Spend a day on campus connecting with other families, building community, and supporting our students by volunteering to help during the school day on September 25th for our Olympic Triathlon Event Day!
Engage: Check your teacher’s newsletter for information about what your student is learning, and bring it up at the dinner table with your Explorer! Showing that you are in the know about school makes it more important to your student!
Contribute: September is a big month for contributions! We need your time and talent during our Olympic Triathlon Event Day and we need your support through donations and fundraising to meet our Olympic Triathlon goal!
Celebrations

Our 8th Grade Explorers recently learned about the American colonies during Humanities. As a culminating project, students created a “sales pitch” including slides, a poster, and a jingle. The 8th grade students then invited 5th graders to come learn about why their colony is best!

We are celebrating our 9th Grade Elections at WCHS! We had an incredible crew of students who stepped up to run for office. They were bold, confident, and presented themselves with professionalism and pride. It was inspiring to see so many students willing to put themselves out there and take a chance on leadership. We are so lucky to have so many incredible leaders in the Class of 2030! We can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes.

The Olympic Triathlon is well under way! Shout out to the following classes for leading the way with the highest percentage of participation: Mrs. Hilliard’s class in Elementary School, Mrs. Hubbard’s Advisory class in Middle School, and Mr. Gray’s Advisory class in High School!

Traffic/Parking Reminders: Please be respectful and mindful during our arrival and dismissal process. Following traffic rules is an essential part of maintaining a safe environment for children. This includes parking in designated areas, adhering to the instructions of school staff, and obeying traffic laws. Traffic laws help to ensure that students are not in harm’s way when they are entering and exiting vehicles. When drivers obey traffic laws, they are less likely to be in an accident or cause a disruption in the flow of traffic. Additionally, traffic laws help to reduce congestion and provide a safe environment for pedestrians.
K-8 Spirit Day: Sports Day is on Friday, September 25th. Students can dress in sports attire or clothing that represents their favorite sports team. No dangerous accessories (i.e., bats, hockey pucks, metal cleats). Don’t forget to show your WCS spirit by posting pictures on all social media platforms and using the hashtag #WCSSpiritFridays!
