Celebrations

We are proud to celebrate the election of the 2026–2027 Student Council at Westlake Charter High School! These student leaders stepped forward with vision and a commitment to serve their peers and strengthen our school community. All students who ran demonstrated courage, integrity, and a willingness to lead, contributing to a thoughtful and spirited election process. Congratulations to our newly elected Student Council! We can’t wait to see their leadership in action!

Some of our 8th grade Explorers went on a trip to D.C. and New York City during Spring Break. According to the kids it was a great time! When asked for highs and lows from the trip, we were only given highs: monuments, museums, laying the wreath at The Tomb of The Unknown Soldiers, Times Square, Hamilton and the harbor tour to see the Statue of Liberty, to name a few. Thank you to Mr. Aichele, Ms. Woodard, and all of the chaperones for giving them this opportunity!

The Spring Sports Rally at WCHS on Friday was epic! The sun was shining, games were played, and school spirit was in full force as students came together to celebrate an incredible season. Athletes were recognized with well-deserved awards, and our teams were cheered on for their hard work, dedication, and achievements. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with energy, pride, and community—one to remember!

Kudos: To the dozens of families who gave their time, energy, and heart to make this year’s International Festival an incredible success — thank you, thank you, thank you. From the families who hosted our vibrant cultural booths, to those who managed ticket sales, supported our amazing performances, and powered through setup and takedown, every single contribution mattered. This event simply would not have happened without you, and the joy and community we all experienced on Saturday is a direct reflection of your generosity. We hope you walked away feeling as proud and fulfilled as we are grateful — and if you have ideas on how we can make it even better next year, we welcome your feedback with open arms. From the bottom of our hearts, WAVE leadership thanks each and every one of you for making Westlake shine. Special shout out to Whitney Browning and Sandra Crowell who were the hearts and brains of this event. The International Festival would not have been possible without these two Westlake parents. Thank you for your long nights of planning and all you sacrificed for the Westlake community.
