Celebrations

We are proud to celebrate another strong WCHS Esports season, with our high school students competing across multiple teams and games, including the addition of our Mario Kart team. Varsity Smash and JV-A Smash both finished 6–3, JV-B Smash went 5–4, and Varsity Mario Kart finished 4–5, with every team ending the season with a win. Thank you to Coach Roland Aichele for your leadership and support in making this a successful season.

Our first-ever K-12 WAVE Trivia Night at WCHS was a great success and a true celebration of our K–12 community! Teams included K–8 students, high school students, and families, all coming together for an evening full of friendly competition and connection. Teams put their knowledge to the test across a range of fun and challenging questions. We can’t wait to make this a new Westlake tradition!

Middle School Leadership students & Ms. Chapman want to give a HUGE shoutout and thank you to all families that donated decorations, food and drinks to our middle school dance this past Friday. We also wanted to show appreciation to the amazing Felix Flores, our WAVE President, who kept our middle schoolers on the dance floor as our DJ and the amazing parent & staff chaperones: Mrs. Jaskaran Kaur, Mr. Christopher Ngo, Mrs. Sandra Yan Crowell, Ms. Hubbard, Ms. Taylor & Ms. Bhaskaran. Thank you so much!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our first Workshop to engage in thoughtful and energizing conversation about Events at Westlake! Together, we explored what makes our events meaningful and how they shape our community. A few shared beliefs and commitments that emerged were:
- Events create welcoming ways for families to connect and build belonging and pride.
- Student-centered moments drive engagement, and both large and small events matter.
- Sustainability relies on shared ownership across WAVE leadership, staff, and families.
- We honor traditions while evolving, grounding events in our Core Values and continuously reflecting and adapting.
We’re excited to carry these shared commitments forward as we continue this important work together! Join us at our next two Workshops to help envision how Fundraising and Volunteerism help our students and community thrive!

Stars” A massive thank you to all our incredible volunteers who set up, hosted, and worked the snack bar, and an extra special recognition to Principal McIver and our amazing student host, Daniella, who knocked it out of the park running questions, answers, and scoring all night long. This was just the beginning — we hope to see you all again at the next one!
