K-12 Announcements

K-8 Principal: We are incredibly excited to announce that our K-8 Principal beginning in the 2025-26 school year will be Mrs. Jessica Block.  Mrs. Block came to WCS a decade ago as a Kindergarten teacher, and since that time worked as a Teacher on Special Assignment focusing on educational technology, and most recently as our K-8 Assistant Principal.  Over the course of her career at WCS, Mrs. Block helped lead the 1:1 technology movement and established herself as a leader amongst her peers.  Mrs. Block has served on multiple committees and has always contributed to the success of our school.  Congratulations, Mrs. Block! 

Family Survey: The Family Survey is taken three times a year. CLICK HERE to answer six questions to rate your family’s experience at Westlake Charter School during the 2024-25 school year. The deadline is Sunday, June 8th.

Last Day of School Dismissal Time Reminder: On the last day of school, Wednesday, June 4th, 8th grade will dismiss after Promotion Breakfast at 11:00 AM and all other grades levels will be dismissed at 12:00 PM.

Lost and Found: The Lost & Found at each campus is overflowing with jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles and more! K-8 families: Swing by to check for missing items  behind the Admin Building.  WCHS students: Look in the Commons during arrival, lunch, and dismissal.  All unclaimed items will be donated over summer break.

SUN Bucks: SUN Bucks is a food assistance program similar to Cal-Fresh, specifically for summer. This program helps families with school age children buy groceries during the summer months. Most children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals through a school meal application or an Alternative Income Form, or get CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal, are automatically enrolled. Some children may need to sign up.  Participating in SUN Bucks does not affect a family’s immigration status.

2025-26 WCHS Fall Athletics Information:  CLICK HERE for information about upcoming Open Gyms, Clinics, and tryout information for the 2025-26 Fall Athletics Season, including Cross Country, Boys Soccer, and Girls Volleyball for our incoming 9th graders and rising 10th-12th graders.

K-8 Announcements

K-8 Field Days: Mark your calendars for our K-8 Field Days.  We have split Field Day into two days so all students can enjoy the benefit of cooler weather in the morning. Help us end an amazing year by signing up to volunteer or make a donation for Field Day. CLICK HERE to volunteer or make donations to Field Day.

• K-5 –  Monday, June 2nd, 9:00 – 11:30 AM
• 6-8 – Tuesday, June 3rd, 8:30 – 11:00 AM

This will be a free dress day and each grade level will represent their grade level by wearing a different colored t-shirt. Please see below for what color shirt to have your child wear that day!

• 3rd – Green
• 4th – Blue
• 5th – Purple
• 6th – Black
• 7th – Blue
• 8th – Tie–Dye

8th Grade Promotion: Our 8th grade promotion will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4th.  This is a ticketed event and only those with tickets are permitted to attend. Tickets were sent home with your 8th Grade student on May 27th. Students will be released with parents/guardians at the end of promotion.

Summer BASE Registration – Open Now!! We’re getting ready for an exciting Summer BASE Program and would love to get a head start on planning! We have lots of fun in store with weekly themed activities–some of our popular and returning themes include Superhero Week, Disney Dreamland, and Sports Spectacular! Plus, families can look forward to Water Days, Park Days, and Potlucks!

9-12 Announcements

End of Year Supply Return: As the school year comes to a close we are collecting all school supplies, including Chromebooks and chargers, school calculators, and novels, that may still be in students’ backpacks or at home. Our Freshman-Junior Class Chromebook Collection day is Monday, June 2nd. Seniors should have returned their Chromebooks last week during their designated Chromebook Collection Days.

Graduation Day – Tuesday,  June 3rd – WCHS Early Dismissal at 12:00 PM: To allow our staff and students time to prepare for our Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony, we will have an early dismissal at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3rd. Thank you for your support as we get ready to celebrate this exciting milestone with our graduating seniors!

WCHS Field Day, Wednesday June 4th: Our WCHS Field Day is Wednesday, June 4th! Students will enjoy games, treats, and Otter Pops as we celebrate the end of the school year! Here’s how you can help:

• Donate: Gift cards to be used as prizes for students, i.e., Starbucks, local restaurants, or other teen favorites. Drop off in an envelope labeled “ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR” at the front office.
• Volunteer: Help run stations, hand out snacks, and make the day fun! CLICK HERE to sign up.
