Morning Meeting and Advisory Meetings have been incredible this past week. Community building and connections has been the top priority. It has been amazing to see the procedures and structures that are being built during this valuable time. It has allowed for students to participate so quickly in getting to know you activities.

We have seen breakout rooms taking place all over campus to allow for students to connect in small groups or partner work. Thank you, Explorer families, for being so flexible with these new and innovative digital practices during this time of distance learning. #WestlakeCharter

Our amazing Instructional Aide team called all of our families that were not in attendance this past week, triaged support and helped us to make contact with all of our families, by the end of the week we had 98% attendance. Thank you, Explorer families, for demonstrating what is possible when school and community collaborate!

Kudos: Wow, we made it through the first full week of distance learning. Our students have surprised many of us with their flexibility, resourcefulness, engagement and perseverance. It has been wonderful to see them working in small groups, participating in morning meetings and diving into specialties. We have watched these classes getting to know each other and bonding in new ways. Our students are resilient and we should be incredibly proud of all of them.
