Announcements

Stewardship Contest: This month, we are excited celebrate the core value of Stewardship by working with Joey’s Food Locker to help those in need in and around our community. Please bring canned food donations to the front office by May 3rd. If we get 250 canned food items the entire school will get a free dress day!

In Case You Missed It

Westlake Charter High School Town Hall: Join us in the gym on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:00 PM for a Town Hall meeting about the future Westlake Charter High School. Mr. Eick will share the vision and timeline for the high school, then families will have the opportunity to dream about what is possible for Westlake Charter High School.

Spring Picture Day: Spring picture day is Friday, April 26th, all students will have free dress. Only students who have prepaid AND filled out this form will be sent to the photographer to have their picture taken. Picture packets went home before Spring Break. If you would like to have your student’s spring picture taken by Excel, please fill out this form AND prepay online or send payment in the packet. All 8th grade students should dress to impress – pictures for promotion certificates will be taken that day.

AS Live Clubs: The spring season of clubs is upon us! Our middle school students, parent volunteers, and community volunteers are preparing an array of options: arts and crafts, improv, soccer, and fishing! Click HERE to see which clubs are being offered for your student’s grade level and to enter your student in the lottery for a spot. If you’re interesting in chaperoning a club led by middle school students (a great way to earn volunteer hours and support the program), please email [email protected]. All clubs except for soccer and fishing need adult chaperones.

Natomas 5K – MEETUP LOCATION: Already signed up for the Natomas 5K? Plan to meet us at 8:00 AM near registration for a group photo and Westlake swag. Look out for the Westlake flag. Not registered yet? It’s not too late to join us on April 27th.

Healthy Living Night: Please join us on Friday, April 26th from 6-8pm for a fun and interactive evening focused on Healthy Living. There will be three sessions for families to rotate through stations including family friendly cuisine with Chef Ravin Patel, fitness with Shelly Christy and mindfulness with Mrs. Christy. This is an incredible event for the entire family and you will not want to miss it!

Volunteer Hours Contest: Now is the time to log all of your hard earned hours for the 2018-19 school year. The grade level with the most hours logged between April 6th and April 30th will win a popsicle party and a huge shout out! Logging hours not only goes hand in hand with our Westlake Charter School Mission, but it is an integral part of the Charter Renewal process. Thank you for taking the time to log your hours!

Kudos: The International Festival was an amazing afternoon full of celebrating our diversity, sampling cuisines from around the globe and watching incredible performances. We are truly thankful for each and every volunteer, attendee and IFC Committee Member.
