Our kindergarteners took a field lesson to the Consumnes River Preserve to expand on their science unit. What an amazing day of exploration for our kindergarten biologists. #joyfullearners
Our WAVE parent volunteers did an incredible job at our 13th annual International Festival. The cultural booths and food were incredible. The performances, raffle baskets, and dessert walk were a hit. THANK YOU to so many parents who volunteered and donated to make this event a success.
Thank you to each an every family for visiting our Spring Book Fair. Proceeds from the book fair go directly back to the school. Thank you for getting our students excited about reading, and for supporting our school!

Progress Reports: Please check your student’s backpack for their progress report. The reports went home on Friday, May 4th.
Staff Appreciation Notes: Click HERE by Monday, May 7th to send a note of appreciation to a Westlake Staff Member. It will be shared with them during Staff Appreciation Week.
CAASPP Testing: Westlake Charter School’s 2018 CAASPP testing window for 3rd – 8th grade students begins on Monday, May 7th. Please make sure your student is at school and on time each day of testing. Students will test Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. Welcome Back Packets: In order have a smoother start to the 2018-19 school year, we have moved our “Welcome Back Packet” to the spring! Packets went home this week. We are asking families to return them by Open House on Wednesday, May 23rd. If students do not plan to return to Westlake Charter for the 2018 – 19 school year, they will request a “Student Disenrollment” form from their teacher. Click HERE to complete the annual permission documents digitally.
Open House: We are excited for our first K-8 Open House night on Wednesday, May 23rd. Middle school will present their Genius Hour projects from 5:30-6:15 PM. Open House will take place 6:00-7:00 PM.
Yearbook Orders: Click HERE to order your 2017 – 18 yearbook on the supply donation page. The cost is $20. We have a limited quantity so don’t delay in placing your order – orders will only be filled while supplies last. Yearbooks will be delivered in June.
National Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week: National Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is May 7-11th. Each day we ask that your students participate in honoring your teacher or a special member of our staff. Your student brought home a flyer with more information about this special week. There are daily activities listed but your student is welcome to participate in any way they choose. Let’s show our amazing WCS staff how much we appreciate all they do for our students and the Westlake community!
Box Tops Competition: It is time! Please send in box tops to your student’s classroom by May 25th for the end of year classroom competition. The elementary and middle school class with the most turned in will win a donut party. Who will win this year?
WAVE Coffee Talks: Thank you to everyone who attended our Coffee Talks throughout the school year! So many great ideas, thoughts and experiences came out of these meetings. We cannot wait to meet with you over coffee next year!
