Spirit Day – Dress like a star: This Friday, February 16th is our Dress Like A Star Spirit day! Show your school spirit dressed like your favorite star. Please follow the dress code guidelines below for spirit day:

  1. Clothes must be free of inappropriate wording and images
  2. All shirts must have sleeves, no sleeveless shirts.
  3. All clothing must be free of rips and tears
  4. All clothing must fit properly. Pants around the natural waist, tops completely covering the torso area

Lost and Found: Our lost and found is overflowing with jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles and more! Please check for any missing items by Friday, February 16th. All unclaimed items will be donated over President’s Week Break.

Talent show: Families & Westlake Community! We are gearing up for the 2018 WCS Talent Show next Friday, February 16th at 6PM in the gym. Come support our Explorers as they show off dance routines, drum skills, singing talents and many more. There will be two acts and a brief intermission with a snack bar.

Morning Reminder: The cafeteria is open at 7:55am for breakfast each morning. Students who arrive on campus before 7:55 am need to be checked into BASE. Thank you!

Presidents Week Break: School will be closed on February 19th through 23rd for President’s Week Break. BASE will be open Tuesday, February 20th through Friday, February 23rd from 7am to 6pm.

916 Area Code Update: Beginning Saturday (Feb. 10), anyone calling within the 916 area code must dial 1 + area code + telephone number. If this new procedure is not followed, calls will not get through. Remember: First 1, then area code, then 7-digit number.  The change stems from a decision by the public utilities commission to overlay a new area code, 279, within the geographic area currently served by 916. Calls to 911, 311, and several other special services will not be affected.  Click HERE for more information on the public utilities website.

Arden Fair Kids Club: Saturday, February 17th from 10-11am Arden Fair Mall is hosting a free Kids Club Chinese New Year celebration with a martial arts performance. Plus WCS receives 1,000 points in the School Cents competition for every child that checks in! Your attendance makes a huge impact and helps us earn money for our school! Don’t forget to have all receipts logged at Guest Services to earn more points for Westlake. Additionally, WAVE is currently in need of someone to take over management of this program for WCS. Please contact Amber Hustead, WAVE President, at [email protected] for more information about this position.

Volunteer Contests: WAVE is sponsoring a Classroom Volunteer Contest! The middle school advisory class and elementary class with the highest number of volunteer hours will receive $100 for the teacher to spend in the classroom and a party for the entire class to celebrate. Please Click HERE to visit the new form to log your hours! Our new form consists of 4 simple steps and hours can all be logged at once (just add them all up). Please contact [email protected] with any questions or changes to your family information. The contest ends March 9th.

2018 International Festival: Save the Date for this WCS favorite! The International Festival Committee is busy planning the event which is quickly approaching on April 7th from 3-7pm on our beautiful new Explorer Campus.
