Dear, Explorer Families,

We had an incredible first day and we are looking forward to an even better day two!  Below are three things each family can do to help make Day 2 even better than day one!

  • Make sure that your Welcome Back Packet has been returned to your teacher.  All students who turned in their packets and completed the form to be allowed to walk home independently, will have a backpack tag issued to them by tomorrow.  To be allowed to walk off campus without a parent or to participate in our chaperoned Walking School Bus program, students must have a “Walking Tag” on their backpack.
  • If you are walking on campus to pick up your student during afternoon dismissal, please enter and exit through the pedestrian gate on Maybrook (by the play structure) or the Walking School Bus Gate on the Valley Oak Park Bike Path.  Keeping all foot traffic out of the parking lot during afternoon dismissal  is the safest way for all Explorers to leave our campus.  These pedestrian gates will open at each dismissal and will staffed by Westlake personnel.
  • If you are joining our Car Line, please plan to show up at your student’s dismissal time.  The line will not begin to move until students are dismissed from classes. Once we dismiss, the car line begins to roll. Don’t worry about your student, they are inside their classroom waiting safely with their teacher and won’t be sent out until your arrival in the car line.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!  Look out for this week’s Westlake Weekly blogpost on our westlakecharter.com website and in your inbox this Sunday!

Families, if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions on how we might serve your family better, please do not hesitate to contact our team by emailing [email protected]

Thank you for your support of Westlake Charter School and, as always…Let’s Explore!
