We had such an amazing turnout at Open House this week. Our students eagerly presented their learning to the community! #bettertogether
During science this week, our 7th grade Explorers did animal observations, dissections, and learned about similar structures! #lifescience.
Mrs. Sanchez’s Explorers dove into learning about Seahorses this week! They produced some amazing writing to reflect their learning!

Ways to Westlake Day: Important Update: We are just over a week away from our Practice Your Way to Westlake Day! One important update is that staff from the City of Sacramento Traffic Department will be surveying our pedestrian and bike traffic that morning to evaluate the potential need of adding crosswalks. Even if you are already confident in your Way to Westlake for next year, please participate on May 13th in hopes of getting extra crosswalks for our students.

Staff Appreciation Schedule: Our favorite week of the whole year is here! Staff Appreciation! The staff at Westlake Charter school go above and beyond everyday to ensure that our explorers have the best school experience possible. This week is our chance to say thank you to them for all that they do. Please see below for the gratitude schedule for the week:
Monday: Bring a school supply for your classroom or advisory teacher (clorox wipes, dry erase markers, PaperMate Flair Pens)
Tuesday: Stop by the Gratitude Wall on campus and leave a note for a staff member
Wednesday: Bring a supply, gift or note for your PE, Spanish, and/or Art teacher
Thursday: Bring a note, card, or picture for your classroom or advisory teacher
Friday: Bring a special gift for your teacher

Parking Lot Help: Our amazing parking lot team has been making drop off so much smoother. They are need of some more assistance in the morning between 8:00 and 8:30am. If you are interested in joining this team of incredible parent volunteers, please email [email protected].
CAASPP Testing Schedule Grades 6-8th:
SBAC Testing Schedule 5th Grade: Our 5th grade students will test the week of 5/8 – 5/12 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:45-2:45.
