Announcements

Progress Reports: Mid-Trimester Progress Reports will come on Friday, January 20th.  Please log into Infinite Campus frequently to see the academic progress of your student. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to your child’s advisory or any of their core teachers.

Canned Food Drive: Westlake Charter is running a Canned Food Drive through this Friday, January 20th.  All donations will be delivered to Joey’s Food Locker, which supports local Natomas families. Items of greatest need are: macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, canned tuna, and canned chicken meat (no glass containers please). Please bring items to your classroom.

Middle School Info Night: On January 19th, we will hold a Middle School Info Night for all prospective parents and current Westlake families who are interested in learning more about our 6th-8th grade program. You will have the chance to talk with teachers, go on a gallery walk of student work, and hear about our Gold Ribbon awarded middle school.  

National Geographic Geography Bee: The National Geographic Geography Bee is scheduled for January 25th at 6:00PM at the Pebblewood campus. Before this final round, we will be conducting a preliminary round to narrow competitors down to ten. Please click HERE for study resources, and begin preparing for the preliminary round. 4th graders will participate in the round on Wednesday, 1/18 at DP. 5th graders will participate on Tuesday, 1/17 at PW after lunch in P7. 6th-8th graders will participate Tuesday 1/17 during Advisory/Elective in P7. Let’s explore this awesome world of ours!

Parking Lot Parent Training:  Are you interested in earning your family’s volunteer hours in an easy way while welcoming explorers to school with a smile?  You can by volunteering during our Del Paso Campus Drop off and/or Pick Up.  Come join us for dinner and information on Thursday, February 16th as we discuss how family volunteers at pickup and drop off can help to make it move faster and safer for our students.  Click Here to RSVP for this event. Math Monday: There will not be Math Monday this week due to the Monday Holiday.  Please check back for next week’s Math Monday.

Schedule Switch: On January 23rd, 6th-8th grade students will have a schedule switch. Students will begin a new set of electives that will run for six weeks. In addition, students will switch their specialty classes.  All students will keep PE, but if your student had Spanish the first half of the year they will now have Art and if they had Art they will now have Spanish.  

Progress Reports: Please take the time to review your student’s progress this weekend as you review their Mid-Trimester Progress Report. Please sign and return both yellow documents to school by Tuesday, January 24th. For more detailed information regarding your student’s grade please check Infinite Campus. If you have any other questions please reach out to your child’s Advisory/Homeroom teacher.

Cell Phones: Students should turn off their phone when they enter campus in the morning and it should remain off and away throughout the school day. If your child needs to contact anyone during the day they will need to use the phone in the front office. Thank you for reviewing this with your child at home.
