Fall Festival: The Fall Festival is a signature event at WCS and one that we would like to celebrate with the entire community! Please, invite your neighbors, bring out your families, and let’s all enjoy an afternoon of Fall Festivities together this Saturday, October 22nd from 2:00-6:00pm.

Love & Logic: We are hosting Love and Logic parenting classes on the  Del Paso Campus starting on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:00pm.  Love and Logic is a parenting philosophy that nicely pairs with the Responsive Classroom philosophy that our teachers use. Kristen Baisden, our Love and Logic presenter, will equip parents with tools to deal with some of the most challenging parenting situations. Click HERE for the flyer. Click HERE to sign up to have your student attend BASE during the Love & Logic classes.

Olympic Triathlon: The Olympic Triathlon is a school-wide event involving students, staff, and parents.  This is a fundraising event to help raise money to support programs at WCS.  This year, fundraising efforts are going towards Westlake’s new facility.  The fundraising will kick-off with a Watch-it Wednesday video on Wednesday, October 14th.  The Olympic Triathlon Event Day is on Thursday, November 10th.  The Event Day is a school-wide activity where students have an opportunity to participate in events related to PE, art, and Spanish.  More to come on Event Day in the coming weeks.

High School Night: We are pleased to invite all students and their families to our Pebblewood campus at 6:00 pm on October 18th to hear from nine Sacramento area high schools who will present their academic programs. After the short presentations, students and families will have the opportunity to visit the high school information tables and ask questions.

Red Ribbon Week: Red Ribbon Week is coming!  During the week of October 24-28 Westlake staff and students will be engaging in classroom and recess activities to support awareness of substance abuse and prevention.  Friday, October 28th the week will end with a “Dress for Success” spirit day where students can dress up with their future careers in mind.

Math Monday: Please check here each week for the link to Math Monday. Come out to the lineup on Monday mornings to celebrate math with us.

Picture Day:  Picture Day will be on Friday 10/21.  Our Fall Picture Day is a Uniform Picture, therefore students must come in uniform (not spirit wear) this Friday, October 21st.

Book Fair:  The book fair will be open next week on the Del Paso Campus.  Hours for families to shop will be:

Cell Phones: Just a reminder that cell phones should be turned off and put away during the school day.  If your child needs to contact you for any reason, they should use the phone in the front office.

Fall Festival:  Don’t forget to sign up to volunteer at this awesome event.  Your student can also earn their community service hours by volunteering during the event.  Please reach out to your student’s homeroom or advisory teacher about ways you can get involved, such as volunteer at a booth, or send in items for the silent auction basket.
