Celebrations:

Let’s Celebrate the Testing Season!

Our 5th graders went back in time this past week as they traveled to their field lesson.  They explored the time period of the Civil War at the reenactment days at Gibson Ranch this week! 5thgrade2 5thgrade1
PE Personalization took on a whole new meaning this week during PE.  Mrs. Connelly differentiated her warm up. Students picked a “challenge” warm up or a “standard” warm up.  Students were swarming around the challenge warm up and even chose to do both when they had finished one! Way to go, Mrs. Connelley.
We are keeping our students active during lunch on the Pebblewood campus.  Students are participating in a lunch time soccer tournament.  Thank you, Mr. Lokteff and Mr. Poseley for organizing the fun-filled tournament! soccer soccer2
rojo Ms. Rojo has traditional furniture, yet she is creating a classroom that meets the needs of 21st-century learning.  Space is flexible, integrates technology seamlessly, and takes in the socio-emotional needs of all students.

Announcements:

For the Whole School

Spirit Gear Webstore: WCS Spirit Wear is back and it’s all available at the newly created online Spirit Store!  https://westlakecharter.com/store/shop/ Place your order by May 9th to receive it during the week of May 23rd. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email [email protected]

Joey’s Food Locker: Being a good #steward means also responding to those in our community who are in need.  Many of you may be aware that students within Joel Schwieger’s Adult Transition Program at Natomas High School run “Joey’s Food Locker”.  The food locker serves the community once a month where people in need can receive food for three days.  Last month, over 200 people sought help from the community food closet and the cupboards were emptied.  We are asking our Explorer Families to contribute donations of canned and non-perishable foods including pasta, canned meats or canned vegetables.  Donations can be sent to school Monday 5/2 through Friday 5/6.

For Del Paso

May is Bike Month: All across the nation people are jumping on their bikes and riding to school and work.  This Month NNTMA celebrates May is Bike Month!  Log your students rides on the tracker which came home this week.  10 minutes of bike riding counts for 1 ride.  We are so excited to break our record

For Pebblewood
