Celebrations:

Dr. Sue Heredia, from the NUSD Board, brought 4 international graduate students from the Education Department at Sacramento State to visit our school last week. Three teachers from Korea and one from China, visited our classrooms and were incredibly impressed with what they witnessed: student engagement, well designed learning environments, 21st Century skills and smartly crafted unit designs. During our debrief, our visitors commented that they had visited many American schools and the practices at Westlake looked the most like what they are learning about in their Masters Classes. Heredia
blooddrive This past Monday we held a Blood Drive on the Pebblewood campus.  This blood drive was a culmination of learning that 7th grade students completed on the human body and how blood disease can affect lives. During the drive, 23 donors registered, 17 pints of blood were donated and 51 potential lives were saved! Thank you 7th grade science team Amber Sutton, Cori Williams, and Sarah Gately for organizing this awesome event.
We are very excited about our new check in and check out iPad at the Del Paso campus. This new system will allow for a quicker access to student attendance and volunteer recording in case of an emergency at school. Thank you to Ms. Cajigas for coming up with a great solution to a campus safety need! ipad
