Celebrations
Back to School Night on the Pebblewood campus was a huge success. Thank you to all the families that joined us for this great evening of learning. It was wonderful to see teachers and families sharing their hopes and expectations for the 2015-2016 school year.
Students on both campuses are demonstrating the Core Value of Respect as they are learning classroom and school-wide procedures. Way to go, Explorers!

Announcements for our Whole School:
Parking Lots: Please be patient in both of our parking lots. Our staff is working hard to funnel hundreds of cars through a very small parking lot in a short amount of time. Once dismissal begins, it can take 20 minutes of waiting in line to pick up your student. We are analyzing the situation and are looking for ways to speed up the process.
Spirit Gear: Who’s got spirit? Westlake Charter School does! To show it off this year, each student will receive a free Friday spirit shirt. The spirit shirts will have our new Westlake Charter School logo on the front and feature our winning student design on the back. The shirts are ordered and should be in your student’s hands during the first couple of weeks in September. The free spirit shirts are only for our students; however, adult spirit wear is available for purchase through WAVE! CLICK HERE for the WAVE Spirit Gear Order form.
Announcements from Del Paso:
Back to School Night: Back to School Night is this Wednesday from 6:00-7:05PM. We will have two sessions:
—Session A is 6:00-6:30PM
—Session B is 6:35-7:05PM
Session A and B will be exactly the same in each class, so feel free to choose the time that works best for you! Back to School Night is an event for adult family members to gain information regarding the year ahead. BASE will be open for any students who need to be dropped off during Back to School Night. We are looking forward to having 100% of our families attend!
Drop off and Pick Up: Thank you to those families who have been making an effort to ensure student and family safety when coming to pick up or drop off your student. This includes not parking on Del Paso Road and using only the crosswalk to cross the street.
Students who arrive at campus prior to 7:50AM will need to report to BASE. Any student arriving between 7:50AM and 8:10AM will report to the cafeteria. After 8:10AM, we will meet on the blacktop for the 8:15AM start of Morning Line Up.

Thank you for coming out to Back to School Night last week. It was such an incredible turn out! The positive energy in the air was contagious. We are so excited for the amazing things to come this year. Remember that our home-to-school connection is key, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of your student’s teachers or administration. Website: Don’t forget to head over to our school website and check out your teachers’ websites. Click on the tab “Teachers” and find your child’s teachers. Teachers have posted their Back to School Night presentations for your review. While you are there, make sure to check out each teacher’s homework calendar on their homepage.
Walking Home: Any student walking home from school must have a signed Walking Waiver form. They will check out with Mrs. Sutton each day before they head home.
Drop Off: Students may be dropped off starting at 7:15AM. Students should go directly to the cafeteria if they arrive between 7:15AM and 7:30AM. If they arrive after 7:30AM, students may go directly to the blacktop.
Cell Phones: Just a reminder that cell phones should be turned off and stowed away during the school day. If parents need to reach their student during the school day, they should call the front office.
